All I needed to see was Nathan Fillion rocking the bowl cut to know that James Gunn will do me no wrong.

It means he's willing to fully embrace the source material instead of trying to make it unnecessarily dark and edgy like the DC movies have been doing since Snyder started

This looks amazing, no Jesus allegory shit, showing Superman actually as a person having to grow and learn and all the extra shit tossed in.

What makes me know Gunn genuinely gets Superman is that the arc of the trailer is the hero rising. It starts with Superman at his lowest and ends with him at his highest - but his highest moment isn't him flying up into the skies. The trailer ends at the scene after that, when It's him together with Lois.

Happy to be wrong. Gunn is definitely one of the good ones. But c'mon, it's superman. how many times are people gonna be hyped for a good superman movie

They shot parts of this near where I work. It was interesting to see a lot that I recognized in the teaser.

Again I'd say look at Guy Gardner/Nathan Fillion. He looks like an absolute tool with the worst haircut in human history, which is supremely in line with how he's portrayed in the comics.

Gunn/DC aren't trying to make everything look cool with this one or tone down the silly and dumb aspects of some of these characters, they're embracing it. Since Man of Steel every DC movie has been unnecessarily dark and edge-lordy except for like... Shazam. Embracing the silliness and the bright shiny colors of the characters is in stark contrast to all that

Well, this is the most authentic comic book Superman I have ever seen. Krypto (right down to the collar buttons), fortress robots, pocket universes, other heroes dropping in and out of the story.

So it is giving me hope.
