2025 NFL Week 18 Thread: Postseason Preseason Week 1 Thread

hello everyone there is not much meaningful football being played this week and you’re going to see a whole lot of backups in the second halves of games

12 of 14 playoff teams are locked in with most seeds already generally known, here is what is left to be decided:

nfc south: bucs win and in. bucs lose and falcons win, falcons in. most likely 4 seed, will be home to play the loser of lions/vikings; a tampa win and rams loss would send the Vikings to LA and the 6 seed to tampa

for the rest of the nfc, the winner of lions/vikes gets a bye, most likely matchups are eagles/packers and rams(or bucs)/commies, depending on how long the packers and commies play their starters/how frisky the cowboys and bears are playing them.

afc final wild card: broncos in with win. if they lose, the dolphins are in with a win somehow. if they both lose and the bengals win, bengals are in. these teams would be the 7 seed playing the bills. most likely other games (almost certainly compared to the nfc) are ravens/chargers and texans/steelers, though the steelers losing could drop them to the 6 seed to play baltimore

they’re still trying to block it. TIL there’s a law in ohio called the art modell law that forbids the team to be moved out of Cleveland (brook park is about 15 miles away) without offering a sale of the team to prevent it or something

anyway that seems like an oddly specific law and im sure the rich owners will defeat it easily

for the record I just did the distance from the current stadium to generic “brook park” and rounded it to a nice number (it was 16ish miles)

Being that this is only what the third year of the 17 game league season, being the only 16-1 team would by default also make you the worst.
