Balance in the House remains unchanged.
Balance in the House remains unchanged.
By the start of next week, the House will return to a 218-214 GOP majority with 3 seats vacant - CA-1 (to be filled either June 2nd or August 4th), CA-14 (likely to be filled in the November general), and TX-23 (also November general)

Entirely unsurprising

I guess Trump's admin did get rid of lots of Forestry and National Park jobs, might as well make money amirite?
I’m not familiar with the voting habits of Minnesota, but maybe they should steer clear of Republicans for a couple of cycles.
So basically Paxton is gonna win. Lovely. Tx learns nothing.
Of course he came out and said it, he's with his people at AIPAC lol

Not fascist tho.
that reads like pure nonsense
probably because it is, just someone spouting buzzwords they decided they don't like
Pandering to the base.
You can see in the comments people wanting him to be denaturalized for being a member of the Communist Party. Having no idea what any of it means.
It's always freeze peach until someone says something they don't like.
I believe one D rep has resigned amidst ethics charges and another died.

There's an odd fight for Swalwell's seat (CA-14) right now. So the Primary for the 2027-28 term is still happening on schedule June 2nd. But it will not include the primary to finish off Swalwell's 2026 term. That will occur 2 weeks later on June 16th. And there's a huge game of chicken going on with the Democratic candidates. The California Dem leadership is trying to coax everyone running for the primary to drop out of the special election to solidify to a single caretaker candidate to hit 50%+1 to fill the seat faster/prevent an August runoff.
There's allegedly one holdout among the 4 Dems (they're all running in the June 2nd primary) that has not signed the pledge to back a caretaker who isn't running in the special election.
Well DHS funding went through, without ICE and border funding.
Surely Dems won't fold on ICE again when there nothing else attached right?
Surely.

A GOP polling firm did some before/after surveys for the Texas GOP primaries, It's fucking bad. 91% who screened out had voted in at least 1 of the last 4 GOP primaries. You "screened out" if you were not voting for the GOP candidate, but data was collected on those who screened out and post-election followups made.
Pre-primary, of those screened out
41% said they wouldn't vote in either primary.
32% said they'd vote, but unsure which party.
27% said they'd vote for the Democrat.
Again, reliable Republican voters that have a recent voting history.
They followed up on these voters to see if they were true to their word.
52% did not vote
13% voted for the Democrat
35% voted for the Republican.
Historical shifts of reliably Republican voters sitting out or switching parties.
Nuh uh Tymon assured me that Republicans never switch sides or refuse to vote.
