If Sirious is...serious...I'm sure we can find something tangible to wager in the form of money or a ban that Texas gets, at best, 3 of their 5 gerrymandered seats.

Although he'd probably self-deport himself anyway for being wrong, so the ban would be pointless.

I am curious if there are any mitigating factors here; like, I know in my heart of hearts that if my daughter was threatened I could probably talk myself into doing some heinous shit to protect her.

I don’t know Sirious at all so I won’t presume, but man you gotta ask yourself where your comfort with collaboration (with the nazis) is coming from. Is it out of fear? Ideology? Sociopathy? Contrarianism? Fatalism? Whatever it is, you really need to work on it. Being the political equivalent of a Pick Me girl is not going to end well for you no matter which side ends up in power.

He has the "always choose the side that's winning so I never lose" mentality. As soon as being a maga supporter is no longer safe for him and appears to be losing steam, he will jump to the next team to root for.

As a people we do not grapple with the truth that this is a personality type that people are regularly born with, even if their parents aren't like that. It's endemic to our gene pool and expressed in ways we don't truly understand. The same goes with so many other personality flaws that people recognize as being terrible. This is why we need guardrails in so many facets of life but here we are dismantling them so the worst of us can continue to be the literal worst of us. I hate it here

I would go further and argue that the vast majority of people practice that ideology in their lives in some form. Perhaps not from a moral high (or low) ground, but professionally? Without question. With friends, relationships, etc? No doubt about it.

Also, not to be too pessimistic, but people always cite the Nazis as the perfect example of a group finding out after fucking around, and that's valid, but there's way more examples of regimes and their supporters fucking around and very much not finding out.

The Confederacy, Nixon, pretty much everybody in the Reagan and Bush admins, J6ers...

You can go overseas too. Francoists. Most of the Khmer Rouge are alive and well, including Pol Pot who ostensibly faced no legitimate punishment and died of natural causes well before justice could find him, if it ever would have at all. Pol Pot might be the worst human ever, mind you.

Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50

E15 gas will destroy older cars and certain vehicles.

He probably told them to proudly march in Jewish unity and defiance and assemble against the Nazis or stop complaining, then called the Gestapo to tell them where they were assembling.

"You see, their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."

The real question is how we got here where Trump was empowered to weaken the institutions of civilization. That phenomena is much more complex.

For Republicans, it's a combination of tribalism (to let people tolerate doing harm to others), egoism and intellectual laziness (to accept the simpleton logic behind scapegoating and the baseless promises), shortsightedness and a lack of foresight (I don't care about a long term basis for society, I care about my wallet RIGHT NOW), and anti-elitism (those educated people don't know better than the common person like me)

For Democrats, it's them being babies about having to work in a system so... anti-elitism and overfocus on long-term change to the point of ignoring short term material harm (likely due to being insulated from the consequences)

If your car is old enough to remember 9-11, don't buy the new fuel.

They're gonna end up saving $5-10 per refill just to refill 2x as often. The savings won't be enough to overcome the mental tax of seeing a still-high gas price more frequently between paychecks. It'll back fire unless they can reallyyyyy get the price low, which they can't cause ethanol is not that energy dense.

You guys are all summarizing the same problem - education. Your average person is not that smart, and lack of pushing critical thought is making them not smarter.

    Yeah this lol

If they somehow get the price pretty low from this, even if it actually costs the user more in the end, they won't care or notice as long as the price per fill up is lower.

I'm skeptical that it'll lower prices much. But if it does, this will definitely salvage them some votes.
