They should just get progressively more weekend at Bernie's.

Then make them work for it! ANYTHING is better than literally not even using the power given to you in a free and fair election. The ultimatum he just did should have been done 1-2 months ago.

It's telling how many of you are willing to throw the game entirely to take one extra move for show.
Gain seal claps and lose everything for it, I love your plan. And I can't wait until he does something stupid and then you say it's his fault for doing it.
I would pay good money to be able to fill a room with thousands of legos and then force you to walk around barefoot in it for a whole day.
i miss when that other dude was the most annoying guy in the room
you don't miss that one guy. or that other dude either
He was already hanging out with him, wym
He went to meet Lindsey directly
Goddamnit
It's funny because both sides of this argument are valid. Beshear is a coward on a national scale for not acting because voters will continue to see Democrats as unwilling to fight for them, leading to them continuing to vote against their own interests.
His hands are also tied because he risks the coveted moderate vote by forcing an agenda through, which would please liberals and progressives but set a dangerous gamble that could backfire. It's also no guarantee a Democrat would win Kentucky anyway.
Unfortunately I agree inaction is going to be far more demoralizing than anything else because there's more than Kentucky at stake here. I wish it wasn't like that, but it is.
This whole thing is pretty much the embodiment of the issue of all these ancient, feckless ghouls refusing to cede power. Not doing your job, be it willingly or not, needs to have a consequence beyond maybe not getting voted back in later. And yes, I extend that all the other politicians across the country who refuse to vote/don't show up for sessions regardless of political level. That isn't the people being represented in good faith of the concept, and trying to justify inaction is a violation of its own.
Is Kentucky ironclad red? Probably, but how does that change? It's not by doing nothing. Nationally, the Dems have their own issues of being seen as do-nothings of their own, or worse, pandering and conceding to their political enemies on the regular. I know this, in part, due to being one of the people who regularly shit on them here for that very behavior. This, on its own, may not turn KY purple or better, but it has to happen because the national stage needs to know the GOP can't just keep gaming the system with impunity. The others are right in insisting Trump and McConnell would've been kicking open the hospital door at the merest whiff of cognitive or literal death if the roles were reversed. They literally spent the better part of the last decade trying to force the former with Biden, who also wound up being a bad example of clinging to office for too long. Why are we allowing that backfiring only be an issue for Dems again? We know the GOP will bitch and moan when it turns out they have to follow law/policy. It's the fucking conservative mantra at this point. And if turning a blind eye to the rules is literally this day and age's moderate stance, it's that much more of a reason to string them out to rot in the sun.
This act alone may not change KY or the national stage, but it can be a start. We fucking need some starts beyond hoping the reaper does its thing or a scandal that's a bridge too far (even for conservatives) comes to light.
Respecting norms when GOP bullshits has gotten us HERE.
Ain't working, time to stop.
Yup, I mean look at fucking Stevens and Abdul. Their debate has Stevens doing the typical Dem bullshit of "look at all the people who back me, and i'll fight for YOU!" while not actually saying any policy or anything with substance and straight up lying about the $$ backing her. Platnar turned out to be shit, but the reason he, Mamdani and Abdul and others are getting interest is purely based on them actually HAVING A FUCKING AGENDA that isn't just pandering nonsense.

Context matters. Do your job when youre supposed to do your job. And don't shoot yourself in the dick for no reason.
These are highly important distinctions. I understand when frownie face is the only play. And when it isn't. Sometimes, whether you like it or not, there is no good option.
