Gravity is making RO3. This looks like a real successor to RO. It is currently in Beta.

Ahh the childhood nostalgia. This doesn't look up to par with today's standards though
Their 3d offerings have never been up to par or popular, so, might as well try an improved 2D version.
I mean the 2D itself doesn't look that great + I can see a lot of old mechanics that I don't feel should be there nowadays. We'll see, but it kinda looks like RO1 with slightly higher quality of sprites, lol
Hell yeah, I'm down for this.
New Trailer
Never played Ragnarok Online myself, it looks interesting from those trailers. However I cant help but notice an Auto button on the bottom right when in combat? As someone who played this can you tell me if this game has a, I guess, "Basic attack" feature you had to click to use? I imagine the Auto might just be for auto attacks, idk.
Edit: Its Mobile/PC... hmmm, this is tough.
I'm trying to get a vibe on what monetization will be like, I play mobile games, but mobile MMOs are a fucking nightmare, they generally want you to live inside the game AND spend insane amounts of money to even compete, no thanks.
I loved RO back in the days. Had no idea this was a thing. Looks neat. Have low expectations but definitely interested in checking it out.
Not a great sign.. "Pay-To-Win, No Europeans, No refunds, No legal recourse - A look at the TOS"

Gacha ruins everything.
Oh well, guess not reliving childhood nostalgia for me
I wonder what messaging they’re going for with “our games monetization is so predatory we can’t release in the EU because of their strong consumer rights laws and refund protection”
Cause to me it just says “avoid at all costs”.
Man I remember FF:BE and I can't believe how far gacha has gone since then. Used to be you'd just shell out money for chances to pull characters, now it's characters, skins, weapons, level ups, level ups for the weapons, skills, level ups for the skills, and of course everything is time-gated but you can pay to reduce the timers. Plus all that stuff costs like $29.99 or $59.99 or even $99.99. And there's always 8 different kinds of currencies that all do different things that you gotta pay for. Like I spent over $1000 dollars on FF:BE over the course of two years, these days if I download a game and see that there's more than one thing to pay for and it costs more than $1.99 I uninstall immediately.
oof, yikes, maybe I'll just go find a RO private server to play for a few days to scratch that itch
