Elon explaining Tesla's to Trump
"It's like a golf cart that goes really fast"
Trump is considering labeling violent attacks against Tesla dealerships domestic terrorism. Unlike J6.
I bet current gen FSD cars kill fewer people than guns. Idk whether car crashes will go down or up.
Seems likely that is the first big payoff for Elon. He is at least goosing the stock price with the rumor that Trump is going to arbitrarily greenlight FSD.
Going by my country's history, it's generally a toss-up if we land Liberal or Conservative on every other term. I don't know why I keep seeing everyone saying that everywhere just because we've had three terms of JT, with a minority lead on the latter two. Obviously taking over the country will make a good chunk of it revolt for 3-4 terms, but beyond that after another generation has grown up?
Doug Ford folded on that real quick, but he got called on his bluff. I highly doubt Ontario wants those states below it to become self-sufficient on their own means of electricity in any case, since that's a lot of electricity going to waste otherwise, plus less money coming into the Canadian economy.
At least with the people I talk to, enough people are still tired of the current Libs to still not vote Liberal again, even after swapping out JT for Carney. Not that PP on the Conservative side is looking too hot either with his lack of a plan, given Trump just says and does whatever the fuck he wants on a whim, which I have to assume makes it hard to do something concrete against that isn't mild reactionary things (hi Doug Ford). I'm just waiting to see if Carney calls a snap election or not so we can get shit going sooner.
Trump's causing too much noise in general that it's drowning out all of the other problems people still have in this country, like the housing prices, so it's definitely going to affect the next election.
This isn't really true, The Liberals have have spent nearly double the time in office and are actually more than double since 1900. And most of those were against the Conservative party that was very different than the current party which merged with the Canadian Alliance in the 90's because they couldn't afford to split the vote. Keep in mind the left also splits the vote in Canada, when you add up Liberal, NDP, and Green party support together it's not close.
For the record the Conservative party pre merger was more in line politically with the Democratic Party in the US with the Liberals being slightly left of that. The Conservatives going hard right is a very recent trend and Stephen Harper only won cause he heavily moderated the far right parts of his party during his time of PM, the crazies only came out of the woodwork after he left and they haven't won an election since.
Recent polling is also heavily trending in the Liberals' favour. PP has completely pissed away a 26 point advantage in the polls in 8 weeks. It's a pretty remarkable blunder.
Peter McKay selling out the actual progressives with that merger will never be forgotten.
In the event of a hypothetical takeover with statehood no way all of Canada would be a single state. They would almost assuredly cut it up into multiple states to soak up EVs from the conservative parts of the country.

I live in Alberta, which is one of the most Conservative provinces, and up until Trump took office everyone was all "Man we need a PM like Trump!" or "Trump please come save Canada!" but now ever since he's been making the whole "51st State" narrative most of what I hear from Conservatives has been "Fuck Trump" and "Someone needs to shoot that fucker"
please do
at the start of the year poilievre was expected to win the fall election by utter destruction
he'll still probably win but the earlier poll disparity was comedic in comparison to now
