So is there anything in-place to prevent Chinese companies from shipping to another country with a much lighter tariff to 'assemble' the final product, and then ship to the USA from there?

Almost 2 decades ago, I used to manage a shipping company. China had multiple shipping options then to help avoid tarrifs. They called it triangle shipping or something. Moved a lot through the middle east if remember correctly. One of y'all are gonna know what I'm talking about.

I do believe the GOP is charting a path to getting blasted in the midterms.

A major campaign platform for Trump was lowering everyday American's costs of living and goods, and of course they aren't delivering on that promise to say the very least.

This, coupled with more people feeling the affects of major federal funding cuts over time.

I don't buy that they're cheating at the BALLOT MACHINES in enough numbers to swing elections. That is fantasy and such a claim needs to have just as much evidence as everyone rightfully demanded from Trump in 2020.

I definitely buy that they have a plethora of other ways to steal elections. Including simply not having them, which is still what I anticipate to happen. If we have a Congress at all by then.

Look, there are two major factions in the GOP. MAGA and everyone else. MAGA is going to vote for Trump even if he said he's personally going to kill their families. Everyone else in the GOP is only going to "abandon Trump" until they walk up to the ballot box and projectile vomit at the mere thought of voting blue. They're voting red next year.

There is no way out of this situation politically without dead bodies. Probably a lot of them. I don't think the USA will ever be the same tbh. The wedge is too deep. I don't think a lot of people grasp just how much conservatives hate them.

I really do think that is the eventual endgame and the goal from a lot of what's going on right now.

It feels like the implication of their actions and general attitude is "We're not going to stop unless you remove or kill us. Please do. That's when the fun really begins."

I think they consider the situation a win-win. Either they win "peacefully" and we all seethe and protest and suffer. Or we retaliate and they become "martyrs" and they just kill us all and win even more.

You're half right they won't vote blue because they just won't vote at all ie voting blue with extra steps.
