Yeah, 1mil at or near full price is a very good sign for a reasonably modest remaster.

Took a long break right before the final battle, went ahead and completed it just now. Again, I finished the game without any perma-deaths as I've always had a leave nobody behind approach in FFT. Awesome just as I remember it from my childhood though ending is a bit open to interpretation? Here is my take.

Ramza and Alma obviously survived as they appeared to Oran at the end. Delita and Olivia survived as well (as per Matsuno interview). The stabbing scene actually tells us that the power and authority did not bring the fulfillment he was seeking to him.

The biggest question is...what about the other characters?

Well, this has never been explained but I am pretty sure they survived and followed the path of Ramza and Alma assuming that you didn't let them killed in the final battle, laying low somewhere in/out of Ivalice. The game never explicitly tell you this because there is a permadeath mechanic, which bars all other characters from appearing in cutscenes. Depending on your gameplay Ramza and Alma may indeed be the only survivors.

My take is that if they survived the final battle they lived.

And yeah, Ivalice is the best world ever created in a FF game (includes XII, XIV and Vagrant).

They're all out and over in the neighboring country--I forget the name. There's supplemental material that came out long after showing that they're about to help participate in another people's uprising against corrupt leadership there. Ramza sent a letter to King Delita regarding it, after he sent Ivalician troops to assist his neighbor King in putting it down. Ramza even told Delita that while he doesn't want to, he'll straight up throw hands if Delita attempts to assist in oppressing the people.

Ah, thanks. Thats more or less how I imagined the ending as well.

Wish Ivalice was more easily accessible in XIV, I know its not canon, but nevertheless I am sure its pretty fun.

Ivalice content is free to play so you can casually work towards it on a free account if you want to get it eventually

Yeah, basically create a trial account, which allows you to play up to Stormblood content, which Ivalice is part of.

Lame. Part of the reason I can't make progress is like I get the urge to play like once a month and don't want to do monthly subs just for that. Wish I could sub for a week at a time xD

I think I have an account with all extensions, but I am level 20 or something? And Ivalice is end game-ish right? Sometime down the road I will get there but with this pacing it is gonna take a long time solo.

It was end game in Stormblood, which is 4 expansions old at this point. But yeah, even only going through the story will take you a bit of time. Being solo doesn't matter, you're doing 90% solo anyway. You can also que to dungeons with NPCs now.

Every 3-4'ish months they usually have 4 days of free play time for existing accounts, which you could wait for and burn through some content on. Usually happens within a couple months after a large content update, which 7.4 landed in December.

If only there was a Switch 2 version...
