I kinda hope in part 3 of the FF7 remake they acknowledge Cloud’s little side quest into Ivalice once he emerges from the lifestream. Doesn’t need to be anything big, maybe he just comes back equipped with an accessory called Ivalician ring or something, Tifa asks him where he got it and he doesn’t remember.

Shortly after acquiring Cloud there was a story battle against like 2-3 thief NPCs, killed them all and had Cloud get the crystals to inherit skills and he learned Steal Weapon, Steal Armor, Steal Accessory, Steal Heart, Steal Gil…so paired with his already native Concentration and above average Brave stat, Cloud is now my main thief unit.

Wait Concentration native to Soldier now/has always been? I never checked because I always put Short Charge on him to speed up Limit.

New dialogue in Ivalice Chronicles explains that this Cloud is a reconstruction of Cloud's consciousness and is not actually Cloud. You have to take Cloud to the battle against Formav at Mullonde then at the final battle to hear it.

If we get a sequel I wonder what the time and setting would be. We could certainly explore Rozarria and I wouldn't be mad about it, but setting something in Ivalice in the future, like after Vagrant Story, would also be cool.
