I too would like a sequel/remaster to Vagrant Story, it’s one of my favorite games ever. But I’m not gonna shit on a Tactics remaster because it doesn’t include a bundle of a handful of other games. I think you’re getting real hung up on the name Ivalice Chronicles when it’s really a nothing burger imo. Honestly just comes off as you wanted a reason to dislike the game which is fine for your preferences I guess but just comes off pretty weird.

Change "shorts" to "watch" and embed is fine. Also doesn't make your ears bleed at MAX VOLUME.

Tactics at least had a satisfying conclusion. We technically don't need to see anything else in the world. Ogre Battle is the series that needs finality. Lodis has yet to receive their comeuppance for their many, MANY attempts at conquering every scrap of land not owned by them. Its a retribution 30+ years in the waiting.

I pull up my OST and zone out to "Decisive" at least once every other week for about a half hour. God, I loved combat in that game - thanks in part to that dope-ass battle theme. Blowing all my military funds doing mock-battles just so I could hear the song for longer loops was my teenage years.

Also I understand the desire for a Tactics sequel that continues to follow the same timeline as XII -> Tactics -> Vagrant Story. There's more than enough time between Tactics and both of the other games on Ivalice to fit another one in there.

George Kamitani really doesn't do sequels, which is unfortunate because we need a new Dragon's Crown as well.

It has been a bit too long Tactics games are dormant, so financially speaking a Tactics sequel now would have a limited player base. Considering SE’s financial woes they will likely avoid that road.

A “fingers crossed” scenario would be SE looking to re-kindle the interest in the series via a cheaper way, aka remaster then build on top of that.

If it ends up being received well by the new player base rest assured that a sequel will follow.

War of the Visions lasted a couple years, so I'm inclined to say interest is there. However, making a true game and not gacha slop and its ingrained anti-fun features is an endeavor they have to be willing to undertake. You can't really tell a story doling out like 5m of reading a month and hope that'll keep people captivated with grind events that are just running the same stage over and over for a week or two with the latest banner unit(s) being OP in it.

Triangle Strategy should have given them all the data they needed regarding any project of this scope; let alone Tactics Ogre Reborn; the latter of which needs a continuation title more than any of them. Honestly, the only real game I'd want from a true sequel would be either a prequel of the 50-year's war or a game outside of Ivalice but still on the mainland. If you look at the map of the region (basically Not-Europe), there's a shit ton of things going on to the east.
