NA PSX release let you steal, but in WotL he had Safeguard so you had to acquire it through extra content.

Yes, and the original dev in charge thinks its silly that it was ever allowed in the NA version, even though Matsuno enjoyed the prospect.

Elmdor cannot be stolen from in the '97 JP version and he wont be stolen from in this remake.

I'm over here trying to figure out what the fuck they intended for the Masamune when every katana has a chance to break and there's only 1 in the game. I always hated that even in the NA version; having an ability (that isn't even busted) that you're too afraid to lose because of the risk of perma-loss is silly.

They said a Tactics remaster would depend on sales of Tactics Ogre Reborn, and it sold very well, so maybe there is some truth to their words
