General question for everyone:
First Person or Third person? :D
I went Third Person for both. First didn't feel that good at all but I can understand it could be more immersive.
I felt game missed an opportunity to provide 2 types of cutscenes, one where it's all first person and one where it's all third depending on player setting.
Grace's cutscenes being a mix was slightly odd.
I did 1st and 3rd as recommended. I am definitely going to go back and try it as 3rd person with Grace on my next play through. Some of those first person moments really got me good as Grace lol
First person with Grace was too creepy for me, shit. The jump scares alone with lights off and sound up were like the dog hall and Nemesis all over again.
Yup

Barely a week since release and the sales already passed the 5M mark!
I am out of superlatives really, on my way to platinum and so far I’ve enjoyed this game so, so much.
Mainstream reviewers who criticize Grace/Leon contrast can gth with their ignorance, this is the game that introduced the unique 2 character system, has 2 amazing survival horror/action formulas and they’ve just blended them perfectly. I loved Grace/Leon sections equally. IMO, as the game suggests, Grace should be played 1st person and Leon 3rd person.
Heck I’ve read one review stating that you have to die to figure out what to do…wtf? And Nostalgia factor? Again, wtf? Not once I’ve felt this way throughout my entire gameplay. If anything, this game has NONE of such instance.
I’ve played on PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim and Switch 2. Amazing on all of the consoles. Sure looks and runs pretty good on Pro but I’d say people exaggerate Pro/base differences.
I’ll avoid spoilers and theories for now. Just enjoy this amazing piece of art that all I say lol.
I’ve been thinking, maybe this game could use a difficulty level between Standard and Insanity.
Apparently, Standard (Classic) difficulty is a bit higher than modern (beyond ink ribbons) and Standard difficulty (both classic and modern) is adaptive. Meaning if you die and continue the game tones down the level of difficulty to as low as 4/10. Modern caps at 7/10 while Classic 8/10.
If you want to keep the challenge level high use “Load Game” instead of continue. That way the game will not lower the difficulty level.
Insanity is really an insanity lol. Everything one shots you as Grace, critical hit rate is punishingly nerfed and certain boss fights are a headache. You really have to land each hit with the dot in crosshair. Some zombies dribble like fucking Allen Iverson lol.
That said, Challenge Points are there for a reason and there is no penalty for using them.
Oooooh shit

Awesome fun, I need to play through a couple more times to get weapons and such, missing some of the statues too. Probably best RE game I have played, just the right mix of RE7/RE8 Doll house horror and tension along with RE4 wacky super violence.
Done with 100%ing this.
I really liked it. I would rate it like an 8.5ish. Not sure if it's in my top 5, but it's up there for sure. I don't know what it is about Leon's section, but after the the first playthrough, it just wasn't as fun. I prefer his gameplay in 4R a lot more.
Part I enjoyed the most: Care Center as Grace on Insanity. I did my run without any challenge points items/unlocks, so it was really fun figuring out how to get around without wasting too many resources. It was the perfect blend of difficulty and fun for me. I feel the difficulty drops quite a bit after that, though. It's just a lot easier to get around enemies after the care center. I realized at the end that I was definitely too conservative, though cause I had like 100 pistol ammo and like 8 hemolytic injectors near the end.
Overall, Insanity felt very similar to when I did Village of Shadows difficulty (RE8) without any special weapons/infinite ammo which starts off hard and fun, but as you get more resources, it doesn't feel that different from other difficulties.

Finished it. Really enjoyed it, but I think the shine is going to fade a bit as people go back through it. Spoilered just in case anyone hasn't finished yet.

Love the gameplay. Love the story. Love the characters and the settings and what it all means for the future.
Absolutely fucking hate that there are no mercenaries or extra modes at all. Once you beat it the first time in like 12 hours, there is 0 reason to keep playing.
Damn there isn't even mercs in this one? What even is there after end credits? I was about to drop 70 bones on this to play but I'm about to high seas the shit if it's just a story mode and replay story mode for different guns.
