Better hope it's not gambling related, otherwise, he'll be back in 5 days.

Sounds like the Hurricanes are in on both McLeod and Hart. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the team that signed Tony De'Angelo twice would be after them.
Carter Shart could sign an eleventy thousand year deal and it would still be like "BiG RoOmEr GuYS, He'S gOInG tO EDmONtoN!" Bowman said repeatedly no, they weren't looking at him. Plus I guess Hart's camp wants a fresh start somewhere in a quiet market, which anywhere in Canada after this is an automatic nope. (For the most part, I mean there's still idiots like "THEY WERE INNOCENT! EXPOSE HER NAME SO WE CAN RUIN HER LIKE SHE DID TO THEM!" etc which is... yikes
Officially the final year for Raccoon Jesus before he hangs up the skates - https://x.com/DooleyLAK/status/1968806869666783261
Frees up money to throw at Eichel next summer when Vegas is like "You're not shiny or new enough!" and lets him go to throw eleventy trillion a year at McDavid. They're allowed to spend that much. Mark Stone rules or something
I by no means endorse outing the girl, but as far as these players largely going unsigned - Serious question, why have a trial at all, if they're still to be treated as guilty by society after a not guilty verdict was issued?
If it was your son - wouldn't you want your son to be able to move on in good standing once they've proven their innocence?

Nothing about this screams "I'm innocent of the charges levied against me!". Seems more like rape is hard to prosecute anywhere in the world, especially years later, especially when most of the public wants them off scott-free because they'd rather watch these boys on the ice than see any semble for of justice for a woman they don't even know.
Good for them for getting the verdict they want, but the world is more nuanced than that.

Like idk man, is this technically rape? Probably not. Do you feel good cheering them on if they were on your favorite sports team? I certainly wouldn't.The woman testified in May that she was naked, drunk and scared when four of the men showed up unexpectedly in her room at the Delta Hotel London Armouries and felt the only “safe” option was to do what they wanted. Prosecutors argued the players did what they wanted without taking steps to ensure she was voluntarily consenting to sexual acts.

We as individuals are allowed to hold people to higher standards of conduct than the law demands. Being acquitted of a (poorly prosecuted) crime does not make your actions morally upstanding by default.
There's a reason Hockey Canada settled with the plaintiff before criminal charges were ever laid. The undisputed facts of the case do not paint McLeod or Hart in particular in great lights. If either one was my son I'd be asking them what the fuck is wrong with them.
You'd think being force to settle with Hockey Canada would cement their guilt, instead of arguing for their own innocence like a non-guilty person would do when accused of rape, but unfortunately that's not how any of this works.

Well, Hockey Canada is also allowed to hold its players/employees to higher standards than the law demand. It's the same reason your employer can fire you with cause even if that cause isn't a crime.
I'm not even sure I'm totally convinced they actually committed an assault by the letter of the law, but I do know I think what McLeod and Hart did (which again, are undisputed facts of the case) was wildly inappropriate and I've yet to see any evidence suggesting any of them learned anything. Formenton in particular just seems like a hugely entitled baby.

Look at what some Stanley cup money can buy your team. Super excited to watch live this year
