The box version of Tactics remaster comes with a flier for 14 saying to play the free trial thru Stormblood and do the Ivalice raid series. Would have been nice if it had some download codes or something for that stuff.

Pilgrim's Traverse is interesting.

Same with Orthos, difficulty on mobs is just from mechanics, late showing telegraph one shots and the like but pretty low auto damage. Which on the one hand I like since PotD and HoH just heavily incentives tanks/range but this is just starting to be the opposite where it just mean there's no reason not to play dps when solo. Wish the damage could be scaled a bit better where the auto damage is more impactful but you're not at risk of just dropping from high hp on a non tank from double crits.

Having so many entry floors is an interesting change, can clear off matched parties which I'm guessing was the aim to keep it from getting relegated to 6hr discord premades. Wonder if they'll go back and do the same for the others, PotD buffs were already pretty crazy.

Nice that the first 30 floors aren't such a slog like in Orthos but having the 10F boss be the hardest in at least the front half of a solo run is pretty funny.

The top floors seem like a odd mix, on the one hand you can stun... almost everything? Maybe trying to encourage melee dps since range was always S tier solo before but in a group PLD can pretty much trivialize everything. There are moves you can't even LoS but you can just stun. Though I've also never seen so many patrols like easily a dozen mobs walking though spawn, many stacked on top of each other maybe just rng but seems like there's a higher allowance. And it seems like you roll damage down at a pretty insane rate but again maybe just bad rng.

Though this is the weakest pom set we've had, basically only one reliable floor wipe. Haste is a pretty mediocre buff compared to like lethargy or even frailty - forget storms or petrification. All the transformations are behind like 10% rng and on a one floor delay so not much use in an oh shit moment. And purification is nearly useless.

99 was pretty tricky for a dungeon boss and apparently a maxed out Quantum is like Ultimate tier, funny they forgot to add any rewards for it apart from the achievement/title. Personally doesn't annoy me - if I ever bothered with it, would just be for the clear but seems to be a point of contention. Adding at least a new sack with better rng would have been easy enough. Or maybe even an unique upgrade to sacramental weapons with a particle effect would be pretty simple too.

Also, such an annoying thing there are so many currencies for this and they will never put this stuff into the currency tab because they'd rather have people buy more retainers if needed

I really know nothing about Monster Hunter but the Arkveld trial is really fucking fun. A lot of mechanics I’ve seen before but implemented in new ways, and I love how many different rewards there are to work towards. Gives the fight a lot of replayability.

iirc the first fanfest gets the X.4 trailer and the first teaser for next expansion, and by the time they hit the final fan fest it’s the full expansion trailer and the X.5 trailer

The fanfests are starting later than the previous expansions so using them as a guage for patch timing is out the window. It's probably why Yoshida hinted that the next expansion launch wouldn't be as big of a gap from the last fanfest.
