Right but iirc he still had at least one more guaranteed year. Him and KOC were cooking putting up all time career stats. The move from what I can remember just felt like them getting rid of the old man who they felt was holding them back from taking the next step. I guess you can argue damaged goods, but it's not like franchise QBs grow on trees. Sam Darnold just so happen to ball out the next season.
