Month Eight: Crashing Out Over A Podcaster

Just young, uninformed, and got caught up in the hate cycle through a 'gateway topic'. It started around Gamergate, found some Youtubers covering that topic, those Youtubers were the typical 'centrists' who are just right wingers who didn't want to mask off, and from there I found others through recommended channels and so forth. Started to watch them for the GG content, just kept watching them to see what they covered next, and of course it was always right leaning and such, and as such I was often exposed to right leaning opinions and news. Back then, I wasn't informed enough in Politics that I trusted what they were presenting me.

It was here where I learned most often that I was being fed half truths and white lies to paint things in worse light because as I didn't know at the time, hate get clicks. Took me a while to get out of all that but I think the hard turning point was Covid era and especially J6, but I'm betting if I didn't have Politics here to give me the full picture or at least open me to the left leaning side of the news, I might not have broke away like I did.

Think one of my "Thank god" moments was during the Pandemic I thought about looking to see if one of those old Youtubers I used to follow was still making content, I didn't plan on following them again, I just wanted to see if they were still doing the same schtick or if maybe they had changed their tune. Found out they were a Anti-Masker and never felt better about leaving those shitty grifters behind.

kinda made me wonder what all our worst takes ever were on BG. i know many years ago i saw people talking about climate change and i said something like "oh you guys got it all wrong, temperature changes we see now are just part of the natural cycles of the earth over millions of years"

Holy shit dude c'mon it's pretty simple. People perceived things to be getting worse with mounting evidence Trump didn't give a shit. People were starting to turn on him and the Dem leadership took the November elections as a sacred sign they're going to win in the mid terms. It's not fucking difficult.

It has nothing to do with intelligent people realizing there wasn't anything the GOP was going to do in good faith... Every rational person already knew it was going to turn out this way. Public perception isn't like that - the public now has nothing to focus on and will just eat up the next bullshit thing they're fed (see "Epstein Files" will magically disappear once negotiations for the bill and other shit) and never have a chance to stay angry.

That's what you don't seem to understand. It was working to change minds because people didn't have to listen to garbage propaganda they were seeing the reality that everyone else was telling them, and then the Dems plugged them right back into the Matrix just as they were waking up because they're fucking morons who can't do messaging at all and earnestly think, like every other time they underestimated Trump and GOP shenanigans the last 16 years, that this is a sure sign of victory and they don't have to pull out all stops to win (they just need to not be worse than the opposition).

The only other plausible explanation is that they are controlled opposition. Either way they're fucking stupid.

Option 1: Shut the government down, cost everyone a lot of money, don't cave, maybe eventually get ACA extension and force the courts to rule on SNAP funding.

Option 2: Shut the government down, cost everyone a lot of money, cave, get nothing, but at least the senators will be able to fly home for Thanksgiving unimpeded.

It's obvious why they took option 2. Can't be inconveniencing themselves or accidentally look like they give a fuck about anyone other than themselves.

At a certain point they would, but Schumer already showed he had 0 spine previously when he caved in almost immediately, so they knew he would do the same this time too even if it took a little longer. The guy is a pussy bitch and there's 0 chance of getting any concessions from the GoP now because Schumer and others don't have any fight

The republicans control the house, senate and presidency. They could've ended the filibuster and forced the government to reopen and public perception was ALL on them.

The dem argument was simple, "keep the ACA subsidies to keep healthcare costs low for millions of Americans". The republicans were the ones having to defend choosing to screw over millions of people, again, they could've forced this all through if they ended the filibuster, but they didn't because they knew the dems were a bunch of pussy ass fuckfaces that would cave with zero fucking considerations.

That's why it's so fucking dumb that they caved, it was the republicans hand to lose, not the dems. Now the dems look like the fucking idiots they are for keeping the government closed for 40 days, for literally. Nothing.

A dealer that Trump gave clemency to during his first term is back in prison for wilin out.

Jonathan Braun was sentenced to 27 months behind bars. The Long Island man had been accused of swinging an IV pole at a hospital nurse and threatening to kill her, screaming at a member of his synagogue, groping his family’s nanny and evading bridge tolls.

Braun was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison in 2019 after pleading guilty to drug-related charges. He served about a year behind bars before Trump commuted his sentence in the final days of his first term in January 2021. Braun was freed from prison, but the rest of his sentence remained intact, including requirements that he pay a fine and stay out of trouble.

I don't think you fully comprehend how awful things would be without the Filibuster It's a necessary evil to prevent the GOP from completely burning the country down when they're in power.

God this post embodies everything I hate about leftists because clearly things are as bad as they possibly could be and couldn't get worse. Also love how if you say get 60 seats in the Senate so this isn't an issue they suddenly want to have a talk about being realistic.
