Because people don't want to read past a headline and whoever wrote that WaPo article knew exactly what they were doing.

They're not redoing anything, it's an additional official memo reiterating that hate symbols aren't allowed. Changing the language of the manual to say "divisive" instead of "hate" was following directives from ole Pete Hesgeth without any actual change in how the rules would be enforced.

Most nurses, even in graduate programs, should not need 20k a year unless they're doing an overpriced state school. Nurse anesthetists are an extraordinary exception. They do not work during school. The course load and clinical hours are indescribably excessive. These students typically need cost of living loans. They also make more than many physicians.

Whenever your healthcare is the hand holding the entire economy from fall off the edge of a cliff, putting up barriers isn't going to be particularly helpful.
