Let's go down the list:

1) He looks the part. Physical appearance is one of the most important things that Trump considers in how he values a person.
2) He glazed Trump on Fox for years, another thing that Trump values above most else, especially considering he was on Fox and Friends, which is Trump's favorite TV show.
3) He is really dumb, which is ideal because it means he only has to act marginally dumber than normal to ensure Trump looks like the smartest guy in the room, which is necessary to get him to do anything you want.
4) Perhaps most importantly, he is 10000000000000000000000% loyal to Trump. Maybe the most loyal member of his cabinet. In almost certainly the most important position to have somebody like that, especially for an aspiring authoritarian admin like this one.

He is almost certainly staying the course. I would be very, very surprised if he gets ousted unless, like I said, there's a huge number of the GOP in Congress that demands it.

I'm originally from Sweden, so we always called soccer Football. Although the British call it Footy for some reason. When I am in Sweden when we talk about NFL, we call it American Football.

Here in Canada, Canadians grew up watching the NFL, so most just call it Football.
