The thing about Republicans these days is that the cycle is the same every time. Something incredibly controversial happens and many of them do come out and question it or otherwise voice their concern. Then over the next few days the media messaging brings them back around and they're right back on the wagon.
Remember the cats and dogs stuff? People were polled about that right after he said it and something like 75-80% of GOP respondents disagreed. A week later they re-did the same poll and it had completely flipped, like 60-70% of GOP respondents now believed it.
At the end of the day, they trust Trump and their news stations unshakably. It doesn't really matter how obvious or how egregious it is what's being said or done. Trump is telling the truth and anyone that doesn't believe him is lying.
If you have the displeasure of interacting with them semi regularly you'd know how it goes. If you approach one about a topic right after it breaks they'll just hem and haw and say they aren't sure and they need to figure out what's going on. Maybe they'll say "well if that's true that's really bad but we'll have to see." Then they go and look it up on Fox or Newsmax or wait for Trump to say something about it and it's water under the bridge and you're just a dumbass liberal as usual lol
We haven't even gone through what will probably be one of the worst Q1s in a long ass time. Everyone knows the tariffs will be gone in June and won't be producing shit for the next 6 months.
