I can't imagine a scenario where Big Pharma doesn't respond to this nonsense.
If they ever want FDA approval for anything ever again they're gonna shut up and eat it.
I made a long post somewhere on this forum like 2 months ago talking about leucovorin. None of you are referencing it's use case correctly.
RFK may not either. IDK, I haven't read anything about this yet.
Edit: I posted about a month ago, I pulled the research around 2m ago I think.
I'm also pretty certain that it was only studied and correlated when transfused intravenously. So Dr Ozs supplement company wouldn't benefit. This is a very specific medication that's infused in an infusion center. Typically an oncology center. It doesn't reverse autism. It helps with speech disorders. That's all. Speech. It's not some miracle drug. Doesn't work 100%. The evidence is compelling, not conclusive. If money gets thrown at it for further research, maybe some good can come from it.
Also, everything I've been told by people who order this multiple times a day is that it is, generally speaking, harmless. No one expressed any dismay at the thought of a child receiving it.
I'm excited to see career researchers dig through the data to tell me how I fucked up the research.
ABC announced Jimmy Kimmel returning to air on Tuesday
I think the actual problem is that they're about to upend decades of advice to scare pregnant women out of taking the only approved pain relief they have access to, and doing so based on a flawed study.
Whether or not Dr Oz or someone else close to Trump is going to make shitloads of money off them doing so is a separate issue, and whether or not folinic acid is even helpful is a tertiary issue.
Ain't no way he'd come back if they made him do that. He already essentially told toilet paper and Kirk's family both to fuck off when they asked for apologies.
He'd be seen as forever spineless and people would want him right back off the air.
I'd say it's important to remember there were rumblings of the execs saying they pulled him for his safety and stuff. It's not exactly safe out there right now I'd imagine when the right is so charged up over this racist, misogynist, regressionist asshat's death.
I'm not saying it was a good move or agreeing with it, but that the whole situation's just kinda shit.
While leucovorin for chemo patients is typically an IV infusion, there's also oral administered leucovorin pills, which were used in the promising autism trials.
Notable that this treatment for autism-related speech is only seen as effective in the percentage of autism patients who are "folate receptor alpha autoantibody positive" which is only ~50-60% of autism-diagnosed children.
Small trial study results here: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7477301/#S17
Also the amounts of folinic acid used in the trial (2mg/kg/day) are WAY higher than the off-the-shelf folinic acid supplements you can find. 20mg twice a day for a typical-weight 5 year old isn't going to be accomplished by 800mcg/pill OTC folinic acid supplements.
yep they’re doing the Tylenol presser now, trump just said people should “try to tough it out”
fucking lol
YOU CUT FUCKING FUNDING FOR FUCKING MEDICAID AND CHIPS YOU PIECES OF SHIT GOD I'VE STARTED TO FUCKING HATE YOU
I fucking hate ALL of these fucking grifting shit bags.
This really sucks because all the antivax people have been rallying against science and Dr.s and recommendations for years and now they have their people in positions of power and now all of the Dr.s and people who follow the science have to reverse the message and say "Don't listen to the FDA and CDC and "experts" they are quacks. Follow the science." It is going to make it even harder to recover from all of this.
Does this mean that antivaxxers are wrong though? Are they going to believe in vaccines again if they don't cause autism?
