I can't see a scenario where only we get paid and not ICE/CBP/the DOD branches unless it is actually the long rumored emergency fund (which is definitely not legal but not like we care about that these days)

A lot of the "reasons" were economic. The economy is terrible outside of the stock market, job market is significantly worse, prices are higher, massive layoffs.

I know the prevailing fun thing to say is that the GOP is going to cheat their way through 2028.

I don't think stealing 15 seats will cut it. I'm not sure 20 will. The GOP is going to get fucking CRUSHED in this economy and without Trump on the ballot in a midterm year.
