Which is exactly why the Democrats need to be using this moment and every other moment from now until the midterms and beyond to get their messaging right and start rallying behind the right people and the right platforms to motivate people to get out and vote.

You are not pulling votes from the GOP. The only hope, which is slim, is malaise setting in so hard that they don't vote at all. I don't buy it.

Galvanize the base. Get them out to vote. It's the only possible way. It's way more effective to convince lethargic non voters that the right is going to ruin their life and destroy their country if they don't vote than it is to somehow magically convince GOP voters to switch sides. One will result in more D votes. The other won't. It's that simple.
