$520 in Canada for a Slim w/ Drive, $450 for Digital only w/ the discount, so about a 20% drop.

That's actually tempting for me, given I still actively use my PS4 (many games I play which have a PS5 free upgrade, or perform better on PS5 due to boost mode), but we're already five years into this console gen, and $500 is a bit much of an ask still at that point when I could just keep saving up for the eventual PS6. I could probably just get a PS5 cheaper used if I so desired, assuming I don't get one hit with the leaking liquid metal issue, where I'd be SOL on trying to repair such a thing.

If you have a decent 4k tv I think it's totally worth it. Get a Best Buy credit card and pay for it over a few months. I have one and that's what I did. I got the Pro this past summer when it was on sale before the price went up. I have no regrets. I only have a few PS5 era games so far and they are definitely next level but it makes older PS4 games with the free upgrade, like you mentioned, like they were just released this year. Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn look stunning.

On that note, I did grab the PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West for CAD$15 during these sales. Sucks the PS4 version doesn't get the DLC, but the PS5 upgrade is at least free for it if I ever get one (or more likely a PS6).

Ghost of Tsushima already looks really fucking good on PS4 as it is, despite making the console sound like a hair dryer. Still surprised SuckerPunch made Legends crossplay between PS4/PS5/PC on that.

I have only played Like A Dragon and there are many references to past games I’m sure I would flip over if I recognized them, but it’s still a very good game even missing out on those details.

I want to do Infinite Wealth so I can do the Yakuza Pirate game next lol

You and I both. Granted I got stuck on Dead Souls last I touched the series, because I was annoyed it never got the Kiwami treatment, AND IT COULD REALLY FUCKING USE IT.

The Netflix app is finally being pulled from the PS3 store. But honestly bro if you are still watching Netflix on your 20 year old PS3 it was long overdue for an upgrade anyway,

I still watch blu-rays off my PS3. It's a completely competent media playback device, better than PS4 & PS5 in that regards if you don't need HDR or 4K video output. I could picture someone still using it as a Netflix box if they don't have a modern TV filled with bloatware.
(also let's be real, 4K streamed still looks worse than a 1080p bluray)

Have you used either of their stores of late?

Missing images
Extremely out of date pages for showcasing games (just remove them already)
No sales ever since the storefront is basically in a read-only state at this point
In PS3's case, a store client that crashes on the regular and is slow as shit in general, with the world's worst search option
Doesn't help that a lot of notable entries never had digital releases on PS3 either, especially from the early to mid generation titles.

I think my Vita TV is still forever locked to showing Metal Slug 3 & NBA on the forced advertising panel that you can't remove without engaging in hacks.

I can go on about other pet peeves with their download system, but the other nuisance is payment options are limited also since you can't use Paypal to add to your PSN wallet, and you can only make transactions using said wallet on legacy platforms which was Sony's compromise to not shutting down those stores.
