PS6 delayed as far out as 2029 due to the RAM shortage.
But somehow we’ll get a PS5 Pro XL or something next year
AI and the ram shortage sucks but I'm ok with not having to upgrade my PS5 for a while lol
Current gen consoles are going to run games like ass by then though

Are they though? I don't see games advancing -that- much, especially with all this RAM shortage
Pfft, it will be more like 2031 with the way things are going. And it will cost $1,000
And thus the cycle begins with a new piece of hardware that games eventually start to run like ass on as dev crunch/'modern' practices sets in and performance checks go out the window. Like with temporal AA being the standard band-aid/shortcut to a lot of visual problems on modern games, at the cost of blur out the ass, or upscaling artifacts that I absolutely despise, which you can't choose or bruteforce the problem on consoles.
Seriously. Most of the shit coming out these days look like they could still run on a PS4 (at 1080p/30) when compared to some of PS4's best.
I mean consols are just budget PCs for the technologically illiterate at this point.

Hmm.. makes springing for a PS5 Pro a little more tempting, but eh, I have a solid enough PC.
What the actual fuck.
The last game they were working on was a live service God of War. After Sony canceled it, BP was unable to make a successful pitch for a new project.
Sony is really cut throat anymore. They did some amazing work for Playstation.
Fucking, remake parasite eve or something idk but to break up the studio? Cmonnn

If I had to guess, they didn't want to just be the "remake" studio anymore. They were incapable of getting an original product off the ground so they became expendable.
I'm just amazed Sony Bend is still around despite getting stuck with the same issue (no pitches accepted + live service game cancelled), while only having released a single game within the last decade.
Here's to hoping they at least keep Bluepoint's technical staff around since they were always solid on their work.
Then again, Sony probably doesn't deserve them with the way they treat all of their studios and this nonsense GaaS push that so far is 10 cancelled games out of 12 despite dumping billions into it, with just Marathon & FairGame$ to go to see how those perform.
The talk that's going around is that they are going to release PSSR 2.0 any day now.
