If you don’t already have it might as well bite the bullet and get it now. With this ram shortage I don’t see the PS6 coming out for a while. Five years, minimum.
Guess they forgot Canada exists, since with those changes, all PS5s will actually be cheaper here than in the USA.
I'm sure they'll over-correct that later by bumping the price up CAD$150 on our units.
Doesn't help that they've been experimenting with dynamic pricing of late on PSN sales, which feels scummy as hell.
The Pro is gonna be 1100 CAD before tax, lmao.
Part of me wants to buy a pro before the changes, the other part of me is like I have a good gaming PC so whats the point. I'll probably stick to my regular PS5
I went on and bit the bullet and got the Pro. Funny, I was just talking with someone at work the other day about console price hikes and wondering if Sony was going to do it again.
Damn, I was hoping I'll manage to sell my Steam Deck for a good buck after it's availability ended and get a Pro, but this ruins that plan
As of yesterday, the Verizon store had the Pro on sale for $700. Don't need to be a Verizon customer.
I'm really glad I bought mine last year when the Pro and accessories were on sale before the price increase.
a grand for a pro after taxes is crazy work
There was nothing on Sony's site about the matter. All I could find were just people doing direct USD->CAD conversions and assuming it'll be that.
Sucks for anyone in Canada that didn't get it during the last Black Friday though that did want one, since it was the cheapest it had ever been in the country since its launch. I'm just holding out for a PS6 at this rate and for Sony to get their thumb out of their arse regarding other things.
And most people are probably going to want to grab the BD-ROM drive to play their old PS4 titles/PS5 discs, so another $100.
Glad I got my PS Portal a few weeks ago. The rest of those price hikes are ridiculous. That’s old school Neo Geo AES territory.
I came across this site the other day. It details information on how PS5 games run in different modes on the Pro and their performance.

Well, they very well know that apart from the initial release where there is competition, 800$ or 900$ people will just pay up for a well established console.
…and for a damn valid reason, regardless of the price it is still the best form of entertainment in terms of price/performance ratio. Besides there is always the cheaper option which will grant access to the same library.
PS+ for April is Lords of the Fallen and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream

Also Tomb Raider I-III Remastered for PS5 & PS4
That's a pretty sweet month overall. I already played the trilogy on PC and didn't vibe with me, but a lot of people should be happy
lmao
