Here's Forsling (42) trying really hard not to fight, then going off when finally he's had enough. You don't get to bitch about hits on the floor when you're actively trying to hit someone in the head who doesn't want to fight. The game was officiated like ass all around, and it started in preseason when they were again officiated like ass.

It's a total mystery why Tampa sent an AHL lineup out in that preseason game, for sure. Definitely completely unprovoked. The answer is that the refs had no fucking clue what actually happened so they picked guys basically at random. Mikola only getting a 2 for starting that entire shitshow is also asinine.

Yes, all these games have been reffed like ass, but probably not in the way you mean. At least Brandon Hagel finally made it through an entire game against the Panthers without being knocked out of the game with a headshot.

No I'm saying there's a reason the Panthers are universally hated and it's not because they've been to the final 3 years in a row. Hagel has paid for the hit on Barkov 6 times over. Kucherov is not an angel but he wasn't involved in anything last night and still got a game misconduct. The Panthers brain people on a near daily basis with zero punishment, not just against the Lightning.

They are not innocent. The hate is not coming out of nowhere. They are absolutely treated differently by the league than every other team which only adds to the hatred. Whataboutism isn't a defense. The Lightning have some greasy players, including Kucherov. The Panthers, as a team, have been playing a game for the last two years that would make Matt Cook blush. They are, by far, the dirtiest team we've seen since the Bruins of the late 2000s. (A team which Collin Campbell's son was also part of. What a weird coincidence.)
