For as much as she gets clowned on for her MMA career post Holly Holm (and her personal beliefs like being a Sandy Hook denier), she almost singlehandedly legitimized women's MMA.

I didn't mean 1v1 like that. I meant like who would you choose straight up. Maybe also in a fight.

LeFlop took 23 as his number because he knew he’d never be as good as 24. He got a prophecy before his rookie season

The question of who you would take has multiple layers. When we ask "Who is the easiest to win with?" the first thing we ask is "Who is easiest to build around?"

But it's not only the skillset of the individual player, it is also about that player as a leader.

I think more people would say they want to play with LeBron... but I will die on the hill saying Jordan was the greatest leader. Jordan's leadership style definitely didn't work for everyone. The man made teammates retire AFTER WINNING CHIPS. But among those who COULD play with Jordan, the experience elevated you.

LeBron brings out the best out of his teammates on the court, but Jordan demanded that you the best version of yourself. And if I was a GM, I'm building around that the blood, sweat, and tears behind the Jordan method.

Jordan had the leadership style of dominating all those around him and was very lucky to have Scottie and Phil (and Grant and Rodman) who enabled that style to work instead of flaming out. skillset aside Bron is more widely buildable around, i can't see Jordan winning rings with Kyrie or AD just because they would fuckin hate him and the teams would implode. Wade and Bosh prolly woulda been fine. inversely Bron woulda slotted into all those Bulls teams no problem.

it's a valid leadership style, Bird was like that too, but it poisoned a generation of minds into thinking it's the only, or best, style, especially with Kobe trying to mimic it (Phil famously talked him into chilling the fuck out before the 09/10 rings). but Bron didn't lead that way, neither did Steph or Duncan. going back Magic and Russell were nothing like that and are arguably the two greatest team leaders in NBA history. it's a narrow understanding of human psychology to think it's MJ punching his teammates in practice or you're soft and can't win.

tho knowing your FFXI career i def see why it most appeals to you gred lmao

I think that's one aspect of Jordan's career that people overlook. HOF players who didn't get chips because he existed.

Jordan is responsible for Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Reggie Miller, Kemp, and Ewing not getting rings. Payton had to go ring chase because of him. It's one of the great questions about whether the Bulls could have gone for four straight if he didn't retire. Imagine Hakeem not have a ring.

Other people ate during LeBron's prime (the GSW Durrant teams were nigh unstoppable, but they did beat LeBron without KD once). The Heat super team was formed in part to get out of the East and challenge Kobe's Lakers (which were able to beat Boston's super team).

Rumor is Bron didn't want to go to the Warriors because Draymond was too much for him.

NBA 2025-2026 Season : The One Where We Learn About Cap Cirmcumvention Rules

I thought we turned the corner and then the last dance came out and did irreparable damage to the Jordan Stans

If we did a all time redraft, I think LeBron goes 1 more often than not. I think it’d be malpractice to not take him. It is what it is. Jordan got aura tho I’ll give him that

As a casual fan growing up when Jordan, Bird, Barjley, Lambier, and others were in their prime, it's 100% aura in part due to his supporting cast.

The Bulls were just such a juggernaut and with him the best player by a mile, a lot of people have the rose tinted glasses on and can't handle the fact someone would challenge Jordan's greatness.

I would give the nod to Bron though just due to his ability to elevate his teammates.

Winning with 3 different teams at different stages of his career doesn't hurt either

I don’t know how Deejay feels but as a native New Yorker I never cared about the debate. Fuck them both.
