As has always been the case and has worked just fine. They also don't need to be 3 mins long, or allow a chat with the coach. The games have literally been becoming a game of quarters because of this. It's awful.

Even taking this view, you can't unsell millions of dollars of ads that were purchased months prior because the rain fucking picked up an hour before kickoff. It's hot. Hot as.fuck. If you want to criticize the ads, that's fine, but there's nothing molevolent about safety.

Hydration breaks have happened as needed in the past and this mandated bullshit is what soccer fans are mad about. Nobody reasonable is mad that there's hydration breaks during games playing in the heatwave this week.

I get that take. I really do. But the boos are from fans...in-stadium, where ads are blasted in 360° view for the entire game. Seems disingenuous.
