I said the same thing about Thomas Muller with 10 WC goals at 24. He still has 10 today. Anything can happen in 4 years. Mbappe will be 31 and could miss it due to injury. Could have completely fallen off by then.

Mbappé may likely pass Messi's WC goals in time (or in the coming weeks), but he's not on Messi's level. Ronaldo has and will maintain more club & international goals than Messi, but he's not on Messi's level. Lamine Yamal is closest, out of current players, which is also absolutely crazy. Maradona and Pelé are perhaps the closest out of all-time greats.
