Not ideal, Bob. I'll check it out because I like Milly, but I'll wait to PLEX it.

Yeah haters are wrong and dumb.
It's not as strong as Superman and I think the biggest error is that it's too small. The moments and characters and even the music all could have been much bigger. But Milly Alcock was great, the action hit, the acting hit, I think they just tried to adapt a challenging story in the confines of a movie and some things just didn't work. A 7.5, maybe an 8 depending on how you feel.

I can actually pinpoint one specific thing that would make the movie an 8.5. There are 2 big flashback scenes. If they had both been sliced up and spread throughout the entire movie instead of being their own scenes, the pacing would be 100% better.

Yeah, this doesn't track. Most of the reviews actually praise Milly and Momoa as great and everything else about the movie as terrible. Even DCU simp Campea killed it in his post theater reaction. "However, this movie is bad. A little bit better than terrible."

Does it feel like people are starting to get a little Polynesian fatigue? Seems like everything the Rock and Momoa are in are poop.
There is definitely (legit) Rock fatigue. Most of his films suck.
Enjoyed it but not great.
Much like the original comic they should have just removed Lobo from this. Fun seeing him on film but they had to crunch down the story so much to begin with before having to add scenes for him in.
Would have been better as a like 4 or 5 episode mini series to give the story room to breath.
Aside, 35 minutes of previews/ads from the time the movie was supposed to start. Really aggressively reminding me why I just wait for shit to be available at home.
I will add that as a major comic nerd, this was most definitely not a good adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow.
It was definitely more in the vein of "inspired" by then actually properly adapting the storyline, but every single change made from the comic was almost universally worse.
I don't read comics, the movie wasn't bad. Wasn't great. But question, in the superman movie and this one, did they know before hand that yellow suns would give them powers? I thought they didn't know and just looked for a planet that was safe when they sent Kara and Clark to earth. I defentitly never thought it was to conquer the plant or "lead" it.
Well you missed a very big plot point in the last movie then. It was very clearly spelled out that Clark's parents sent him to conquer the planet
Usually in the comics if they show the scene with Jor-El explaining his plan to Lara he does know what yellow sunlight will do to Kryptonians.

I liked it quite a bit. Have not read the comics and it wasn't as good as Superman but it definitely stood on its own. Will be interesting to see how they plan with both of them being on Earth from here on out.
