I never got around to the original but was it this action packed? Always seemed like more of a slow thriller to me
It's a thriller, but definitely not slow. The combat system with the telekinetic powers is really fun. You should definitely check it out, it is a very cool experience
What they showed is completely different gameplay from the first game. The first Control is amazing tho, absolutely one of the best games of the last decade
Is it scawy though??
Yes-ish.
I wouldn't call it a full on horror game, but it absolutely has horror elements
Thats partly what kept me from it. I'm not that into horror games haha
It's more horror in theme than gameplay I'd say
Yeah it has scary elements and themes but the gameplay is pure 3d metroidvania
Maybe I'll check it out after I am done with Tsushima, if it's still on PS plus
so question about Remedy stuff in general, spoiler tagging because even the question might give stuff away
Spoiler: show
All of their games are connected in some way, AW2 even makes Quantum Break and Max Payne references (though not directly since they don't own those IPs).
But if you wanted the full deep dive yes you'd go in order with Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Control (especially the second DLC, which leads directly into Alan Wake 2) and then Alan Wake 2.
Truth be told American Nightmare kinda sucks, you'd maybe be better off just reading a synopsis since Alan Wake 2 references it A LOT
fwiw the games are currently on a massive discount on Steam (90% for the first 2 Alan Wake games and 85% for Control).
I've almost bough AW2 on sale a couple times but held off since I haven't gotten started with the others yet
They just gave it out on PS Plus, but I don't remember if it was a monthly game or was it added to the catalogue
Mac version announced
This looks great but there just seems to be a lack of impact? Def will be playing this though.
