USPS has proposed raising the cost of a stamp from 78 cents to 95 cents
how close are we
Not even remotely close tbh
One day I hope we can accurately explain to future generations that the red line on Trump was not the ICE murders and constitutional violations, the war crimes in Iran, overthrowing and threatening to overthrow other sovereign nations, or the rape and trafficking of countless children. The red line was increased gas prices. That’s it.
America famous for its lack of revolutions.

I mean you are not revolutioning the greatest military force in the history of mankind.
It’s not that simple. If a revolution ever did happen, the military would likely be divided, if not partially involved, rather than acting as a single opposing force.
The bigger reason it’s unlikely, though, is that most people are still, for the most part, comfortable and entertained. And by “most people,” I mean the broader population. Communities like this forum tend to be more tuned in, which can make things feel more urgent or unstable than they actually are for the average person. But the majority of people aren’t living in that headspace. They’re going about their lives, largely disengaged.
As long as people have access to affordable comforts, like streaming services, fast food, and everyday conveniences, the idea of risking their lives for a revolt doesn’t even enter the equation. The billionaire class understands this dynamic. If things ever started moving toward real unrest, you’d likely see the cost of those small comforts drop quickly, just enough to keep people content and maintain the status quo.
As much as I would love a Revolution and some of the Oligarchs heads rolling off a guillotine, the reality is a significantly large portion of the population simply doesn't care or doesn't think things are actually even that bad. As Anoat said they're more concerned about gas prices than Child Rape/murder and bombing brown folks in the middle east, and as much as your average person is angry about gas Prices, they aren't about to get their heads blown off about it. Republican Politicians, backed by decades of Elite/Billionaire purchased news outlets and donations, have been winning the propaganda war for a very long time, creating legions of brainless, disinterested voters who will swallow just about anything put to fox news and are conditioned to bow to any perceived authority or higher power, its why Republicans also largely prey on the Religious folks who are always predispositioned to concede any thought to a 'higher power'.
Not to mention Billionaire worship expands their reach and one of the most famous owning a Social media platform to disseminate propaganda with bot armies.
Further, frankly I wouldn't hold my breath on the Military splitting, if the DHS/ICE Goons and the Police backing them up and the National Guard backing them up told me anything its that the military would gladly shoot "Less lethal" rounds and bully unhappy US citizens if given the order. I'm sure theres more than enough of them who have been dreaming of the day they get to to kill a few Libtards too if given the command to open fire on some "Domestic Terrorists".
And if they do, I don't think we'd get some eyes open moment from the public, Fox News would be bringing on talking heads to say how the Military are heroes for killing these Un-American terrorists funded by Antifa. I mean, Alex and Renee are still dead and no ICE agent has been arrested yet, even with overwhelming evidence supporting them being unjustified murders. Why? Billionaire owned propaganda, a fast news cycle, and social media bot armies.
All and all I'm not saying its hopeless to keep fighting, but I do think Revolution is really far out of reach right now, and unfortunately I don't think it would gather the support needed for real change. It'd probably be squashed rather quickly and then demonized and the voting class would go back to never looking up.
I don't think I've bought a stamp in a decade. No idea they're more than 70 cents now. I remember we almost had a revolution when the price went past 30 cents in the early 2000s.
The US isn't even close to holding a general strike, let alone one that persists for longer than a day or a week. Even those I personally know that are even farther left than me aren't empowered to do that let alone revolt.
You would need entire states and their elected governments to rebel before revolution occurs and I don't see Civil War 2 happening any time soon.
Huh. Every time I say it I'm the bad guy.
Will never be any revolution or general strike or civil war or reckoning or whatever other fucking nonsense you hope for.
