Sypha and Drac having their Netflix adaptation voices made me a lot more excited.
Demo is live!
Did they get Yamane back for the soundtrack?
Demo was ridiculously short.
I was worried about Rose’s mobility at first but it gets a lot better once you obtain the whip and can start swinging around and pull yourself to the enemy. However, it still feels like she should be running at least a step or two faster. Maybe this is intentional now that there’s no contact damage from mobs, fucking finally, but man does she feel slow. But I’m sure we’ll get more options as the game progresses.
Combat in general feels fun I guess? There’s only like three or four different mob types and most are just derivatives of each other. Only one boss fight too whose pattern is pretty brain dead lol. Which I wish they’d let you re-fight after you find the second weapon.
I love the artwork and environment. I know not everyone is a fan of the Netflix-style but I think it looks great. Not enough to judge the music but it seems fine so far.
At the $30 price tag it’s an easy day one for me. Might as well pickup the Midnight edition for another ten bucks. Us Metroidvania fans have been eating good lately!
And I really fucking hope they don’t expect us to hardswap spells in the full release.
So apparently there is a Steelbook edition of this but it's exclusive to Europe.

I'm frantically trying to find somewhere that will ship to the US.
reviews up, 88 at Opencritic and a certified banger
I need to hurry up and finish Onimusha before this drops.
I've been mostly trying to hold out on starting new games and replaying other shit with this and FF Resonance dropping in back to back weeks
I enjoyed the demo, but it felt a little clunky to me. something about her movement seemed to be a bit off, in a way i can't quite place. It was fun, but Bloodstained felt a lot better than this did. I'll still pick it up, but probably after I work through some of this monstrous backlog from this quarter.
I felt the exact same until I got the whip. Things really opened up after that and I had no complaints. I feel like the slide/back dash is a bit finicky. You carry a tad bit of momentum in your actions but to back dash you gotta be completely still.
It's going to be a day one for me given the price and how it lines up well with Resonance next week and Crimson Desert expansion the week after. Eating good this month and there's still plenty of things on the back burner.
Demo reviews were middling, but the full game reviews seem stellar. I'll wait for a sale though - too many vet and car bills lately
My game is waiting to be able to launch on steam, but it's gone 1am now so I'll play it tomorrow after work. Looking forward to it. Enjoyed demo.
Not gonna lie, reaching the second boss and realizing this game has runbacks, immediately toggled on the "respawn in front of boss doors" option.
I ain't got time for that shit these days
I can already tell the gameplay in this is gonna open nicely. The weapon and ability you get from the second boss are both pretty cool
Nobody is allowed to play this until I get home from work.
