Suggestions for a file / folder psw lock program

Greetings!

So I'm looking for a program to put a psw lock on a file or a local folder. For years I have just kept my all my various site passwords on a txt file because there are sites that just have the wackiest passwords or those I barely use. If I lose my laptop somehow I would be super compromised. I know there cloud or browser psw savers but I don't realllllly trust them as leaks happen all the time. Yeah, this coming from a guy with a txt document for his pswds.

Anyway, any suggestions from experience would be appreciated, thanks!

Not exactly what you're looking for, but if you're worried about leaks of cloud/web based password managers, you could host your own on your own hardware with Vaultwarden or Bitwarden.
