Me realizing today this is Switch 2 only

goty right here no notes

Anyone try it yet? Considering buying a Switch 2 for this (and since it sounds like the price may go up later this year)
Oh I wasn't joking. Goty, no notes. The game is exactly what it sells itself as: crafting life sim island builder, but with Pokemon. It's basically nothing new, just the best version of a game we've all been playing in one form or another for ages now
How restricted is the building, is there a lot of room for creativity or does it really hand hold you into very specific build areas? is there no goal outside of "Collect some Pokemon and build things for fun" or is there deeper aspects to it?
Cause Animal Crossing was just DOA for me because I can't really just do "aimless" games, but on the flip side I loved Stardew Valley. If the whole game is just Minecraft Creative mode but with Pokemon, it probably wont be my thing, and I'm trying to find more information without spoiling the game ya know?
I heard there's a story mode 20-40 hrs long
I'm still in the beginning stage, but it seems like they'll want you to fulfill quests to make pokemon happy to get more quests unlocked, that sort of thing. so there is very much a gameplay loop that's tied into the story and gives you goals. it's closer to Dragon Quest Builders than Minecraft in that way
Thank you both
Really having a blast with it. The only real complaint for now maybe I foresee some storage management issues down the road. Boxes are independent and there's no way to really mark them or even tell where you stored certain items.
Highest critically rated Pokémon game, ever.

2.2M sales in it's first 4 days
but why does Kyogre speak in a Southern accent?
amazing that no one is talking about this game on BG when on reddit it's being hailed as a system-seller with over 10% of Switch 2 owners having a copy of the game, a pretty insane ownership rate for the short amount of time it's been around
anyway it's just... so damn good. always something to do, and it's always interesting. I'm like halfway through the main plot (maybe?) and 30 hours in, just learned how to generate electricity - this game is deep and I can't even fathom how much time I'm going to spend fixing up the final area in the postgame
I do feel bad though. I never feel like I have time to make the pokemon living spaces nice. it's like "here's the bare minimum habitat and/or a house, good luck I'll fix your space up in a few dozen hours from now once I finish the main story" :/
Too busy playing to talk about it :D
Every time I turn it on the rest of the day is basically lost. I finished the story already, so I'm now slowly working on completing my Pokédex.
It's literally sold out everywhere here. My girlfriend really wanted a physical copy but they actually don't exist and she's about to just cave and buy it digitally so she can play it a bit while she's still on her March Break.
I bought a Switch 2 finally for this. It's so fun.
Isn't the physical copy just a key card for this game?
It is, she just wants to have the game case basically.
