SF has a worse record than the Mets right now. Damn. ^^;
The Cubs need to start getting serious. Dropped another one to the Cards today.

Wrote Bible verses on his cap for pride night a few months ago
The Bluesky/reddit has been making a big deal out of it since while the team has consistently refused to comment on it
gdi, lost what I typed on accident by hitting the back button.
But to piggy back on Krandor's reply, the Giants were the first to do any sort of LGBT promotion when they started doing "Until there's a cure day" for aids awareness and to try to remove the gay disease stigma from it. Even Jeremy Afeldt, one of the most religious players the Giants ever had went full in on supporting the LGBTQ community after things got explained to him. Add this in, on top of Roupp in his previous start throwing a tantrum and staring daggers at the manager for removing him after walking 3 batters in a row, then getting even more pissy after one of those runners scored has pretty much soured him on the entire fanbase.
Two others also wrote bible verses on their caps, while a fourth just wore his regular orange cap and no one commented on him. A lot of the hate is towards the bible verse 3 as they were using bible quotes a lot of hard right religious people have been using to try to "reclaim the rainbow" from LGBTQ people.
The whole thing felt like a nothing burger that should have just been ignored the day after it happened, but corners of the internet like r/sfgiants just refused to let it go and have been dragging it on for months now
Honestly it would have died out within a week if they just said anything.
First mistake was Buster saying he was going to be on knbr for an interview a couple days after when shit was hitting the fan and then cancelling and Larry Baer fills in.
Then a few days later at the press conference, just keeps saying baseball only questions. Was a prime exampl on why some things you just can't bury your head in the sand

Oops
Giants called up Tugboat. In 90 innings in the minors, only given up 59 hits.

The Mariners also lost that game 22-0, lmao. That might be the worst shutout I've ever seen.
Edit: Tied for the worst shutout loss since 1988 I think, lol.
