Any WW2 history nerds out there?

So mom reached out to a guy who runs a worldwartwohelmets website about a German m35 Heer helmet she has had from my great uncle. He was a sharpshooter in the Battle of the Bulge where he took this helmet off a German.

They valued it at 5k and seem pretty antsy to get it so she wasn't sure if the guy was trying to scam her, or if it's worth much more or what to make of it so told her I would look around and see.

Quick search shows value ranges from 750 to 4800+ so seems within the right territory, looking at other pics this one seems to be in very very good condition compared to others.

Also the guy runs a museum where he does write ups about the soldiers too and collects for historical reasons so much better then selling this to some weirdo Nazi lover online lol

My late father loved military history, and was actually supposed to visit Normandy Beach for the first time before COVID hit, then passing from a heart attack.

Ugh that sucks, I really want to go visit some WW1 sites in Europe in a few years. Great uncle was on one of the beaches during D-Day but not in the first wave, Grandfather was down in Africa during WW2. Both of them had wild stories.
