RIP Hockey Night in Canada (for now unless the show moves to another network)

CBC will no longer air NHL games. Hockey is officially paywalled in Canada.

HNIC will still be on Sportsnet, but I have a sneaky suspicion that the NHL is full time heading towards streaming services like Amazon Prime. The NHL can make more money dealing with multiple platforms.

Get a huge contract with Sportsnet. Get some side $ from streaming, and have your own streaming service.

No shade, but God dayum I knew the 2025 season was ranked a hard year to win, but I didn't realize it was that extraordinarily hard compared to other years. No wonder they were so banged up calling 3 years of cup runs with a win in that environment. Canes had it on easy mode
