You know it's a YUUUUGE news day when someone's tweeting that out
This is for Canada, but Amazon Prime will now be doing Wednesday night games. They will also be doing 2 series in the first round of the playoffs, and 1 series in the second round.

Is this in addition to the Monday night games they were already doing?
Sportsnet is Monday and Saturday again.
But we all know this sets the precedent for future subscription paywalls
Battle of Alberta, Disney+ or buy it yourself for $10!
Who's gonna win game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals? Find out tomorrow on CRUNCHYROLLLLLLLLL
Amazon Prime will be on Wednesdays now during the regular season. Mondays are now an open slot. There are rumors that Rodgers is selling the Monday slot to Bell, and Bell will have the games on Crave.
Sweet, then SN can sell Saturday to some obscure Afghan streaming service and we can bring back Hockey Night In Kandahar. It's close, but not quite
These companies are leeches and I stopped with their bs awhile ago. I love to watch on completely legal streams that may or may not require a VPN. In fact I implore everyone to use these completely legal streams as they're endorsed by Jack Sparrow himself.
Yeah, really sounds like they want everyone to start watching on hockey tv channels more than anything.
Canes had a deal with Fanduel, but their streaming service is gone now, so it sounds like the Hurricanes are going to just do their own broadcast. Better cost less than the $80 for Fanduel, because that also included all of the Hornets basketball games.
I pay $10 a month for literally every broadcast channel, and many more. I'll never go back from iptv

Macklin Celebrini 5 years, $94M extension with the shreks
One thing is clear, the agents for these guys got them to buy in to walk to UFA for big $ down line. New era for NHL RFA's. The era of friendly longterm deals for both sides is over.
The Florida Panthers are laughing at this, and the league. Imagine paying your top player 17-18% of your cap just for your entire squad to continue to underperform and be mediocre. Just straight flaunting and throwing it in everyone's face that they're in it for the money, not the championship. And he's only locked in for 5 years! He's gonna play for 4 then peace out and win a cup with another team that 5th year, laughing all the way to the bank.
As is their right, of course. But I'm content with my team and their actually team friendly deals that helps build an entire team and not just the top line and a half. 1.8x the cost of gold winning Barkov? Fucking yikes man.

I imagine the young guns in MTL are like "Oh." after they're all locked up til 2031-2033 for all under 10M as well.
Briere definitely accelerated the salaries exploding with the offer sheet (lol @Syn and the 1.044 Carlssons reference)
Wonder what the D man AAV is gonna be set at with Makar/Quinn UFAs next summer, assuming no extensions for either.
We have 3 other top 5 picks starting, and I think 30 million or close to it coming off the books when this starts, with the cap increasing anywhere from 5-8 million a year, it's not an issue.
I would have preferred around 15 million a year, but it beats having to match a rfa offer sheet on a generational talent.

It's a culture thing. The organization has to make it clear what their priorities are, and it's clear the priority isnt depth (or winning) when you're paying that much for talent that hasn't proven they can win a cup. It's been very illuminating to me to see the types of moves others have been making.
McDavid even took a more team friendly deal!
