They've been a more than competent team for the majority of the last decade. Their best seasons ended abruptly in the 1st or 2nd rounds largely because when April hits he can't stop a beach ball.

I think he won gold and likes the feeling of being a winner. He sees his teams culture and doesn't think it fits his desire, which clearly is to win. They were below even the heavily injured Panthers last season, but literally one of the best the season before and still pretty good in the seasons before that but it wasn't enough and clearly he's unconvinced they're able to make the moves to finally clinch that win. Don't blame him in the slightest.
