I think everyone athlete wants to go out on top, but most just don't get to.

If anything, Kopi got to finish it with the same team he held throughout his career, no awkward 1-2-3 year run at the end with a different club that never felt like home. The fans got to know his plans and celebrate him with a massive, sustained standing ovation even as they got eliminated. It honestly not the worst non-Championship way to go out.
