Not a fan of the art style in the new GITS, yes I know it's based off of the manga, but I like the story so far. I'm noticing that this might be the first Amazon show that is designed for ad breaks. The ad breaks in other programs always drop at the worst times, but this one has a pause point.

Edit: the post-credits art is pretty dope, though

Saw a lot of hype and just general talking about Mushoku Tensei recently so I figured I'd give the show a spin since I never watched any of the seasons before.

Man.... I really don't like this Epstein ass MC.

I refuse to watch it, don't care how good the world building or the fights are or whatever, the story is gross af

I watch it solely for my perpetual hunger for good high fantasy shows, but Rudeus being a piece of shit can really make it difficult to watch/recommend. It's also one of those shows that reaffirms my belief that the anime industry has a pedophilia problem because even if you try to pass it off as "Well, that's how that world works!" you can't really justify focused shots of near-naked early teen girls in next to no clothing in sexual situations.

It also gets a lot harder to call it some kind of journey of growth and self-discovery to becoming a better person when they basically assert being a horny POS is in his family's DNA and that he's now two wives into a harem alongside one kid with current show progress before even turning 18, I believe. Plus the juvenile panty fetish and his second wife basically being the eternal loli through Roxy

Yea, I just dropped it lol. I don't care at all for this character's journey or that world, and based on some snippets I've read of what happens later, it just gets worse and grosser.

Sad part is some minor rewrites and re-cuts of scenes could go a long way in curbing the ick, but alas, what's otherwise often pretty animation has to get shackled to otaku shock value crap masking the ugly bastard trope.

Exiled Heavy Knight is a cool fantasy show this season that isn't disgusting. It is a little pervy though lol

Neko to Ryuu is a hilarious fantasy show that is wholesome AF, also airing this season

They won't rewrite anything lol the author wrote the story as an expression of his own fetish. Many such stories with popular anime (fiction in general, let's be real)

Oda with One Piece for all the love and fame he gets is a massive creep. Rurouni Kenshin's author faced prison time for CP... he was acquitted mostly due to the fact of his own fame and the fact that the industry went to bat for him as character witnesses. It's a rabbit hole that will really make you lose respect for em.

Horikoshi with MHA is also a total freak.

I never thought the day would come but there is finally a manga accurate adaptation of Ghost in the Shell.

We are only two episodes in and this show is fantastic!

New Anime movie from Hitomi Tateno. She was at Studio Ghibli for like 30 years. She has teamed up with Yukimitsu Ina (Star Wars: Visions), Akihiko Yamashita and Shinji Otsuka.

Movie is called Coocoon. It is about the story of the Battle of Okinawa during WWII. So this will probably be a Grave of the Fireflies tear jerker.

Comes out in theaters Sept. 4th
