It is fucking crazy to me that D4 is going to end without ever encountering Diablo, not even having his name present in the whole story. What a fucking joke.
Yeah I won't be getting this at launch. I'll wait and see cause Diablo 4 didn't grip me the way I thought it should have

Realistically, the Blizzard of the past 20 years has proven you should never pick up a modern Diablo title at launch because they don't know what the fuck they're doing. I know I'm a broken record at this point for insisting their focus on D2 was a mistake for early D4, and since then they've basically been scrambling to turn it into a glorified D3 expansion because not all aspects of D2 are good ackshully. There's something in between that could exist and would be good, but I fear it will never happen as long as the franchise stubbornly clings to seasons with temporary mechanics and thinks combat should be one-shotting the enemy or getting one-shot by them in the middle of a trippy light show that makes LSD users blush. It's personally vexing because I feel my ideal game would exist somewhere between a good Diablo and an MMO, but appeals to tradition/genre purity keep it from happening.
Weird place to get the exclusive but some interesting info here. https://www.esquire.com/entertainmen...o-v-first-look
Monk and Demon Hunter returning, new class called Plague Knight, will launch with more classes than any of the other games (slightly unclear if they meant those games at launch or total classes at the end of life cycle)
Set over a hundred years after D4 and your base is a growing caravan of survivors moving through a post apocalyptic Sanctuary where Diablo has won.
I don't think I've played Diablo 4 at all since a few hours on release... I 100% regret buying whatever deluxe bullshit version I bought. If this looks any good I'll get it for 50% off down the road, otherwise, I think I'm good...
I played at launch, and at expansion launches (game share with a friend who bought em), enough time in between to get the itch to play again and see the new stuff, but no interest in the seasonal stuff and starting over every couple months
D4 still has 3 years of content before this game comes out. I'm still playing it on and off. It's not bad.
