    Kiting vs Marathoning

Are these two things the same? If not, can someone differentiate between the two for me?

Kiting is a term that started in UO and EQ... It means to run a mob behind you. Usually used when you are soloing or are 1 on 1 with something, using magic or Damage or Time spells to kill it.

Marathon was a term started in FFXI, started by jps... means to run a mob so that it cant hit you. usually see this used when talking about HNM or NM killing strats.

But, they are the same concept. yes.
