Anyone ever get all their stats to 255? I figured it'd take a good 100 hours of grinding to do

No point maxing out all stats cause you can beat all the end bosses without it. Unlike FFX where you pretty much needed max stats to win.

I actually started a new FF7 game and decided to finally get every character maxed, every item, everything killed, master all materia and all that jazz... I did this once before, and accidently deleted the save file, I was ANGRY, so I'm doing it again slowly... exping in the sunken plane, I only play when I have absolutely nothing better to do cause it takes so long

I think he means either those 1/35th Shinra Dolls or those toy Masamunes you can win from Speed Square, both of which are absolutely useless (although the shinra dolls might have been useable as a grenade-type item, but besides that they're pretty much useless).

I wanted to do that too... and then I realized that it'd be like FF11 all over again, except there'd be no point to it. It'd be sweet if they made a remake of FF7 for PS3 though with those "extra" features like they did with FF1 and FF2 where it'd tell you what monsters and treasures you've found and killed.

yeah there really is no point, but I had it once and lost it so I figured when I'm bored out of my mind, I might as well do something, and why not complete my favorite game one more time

You can also beat Emerald Weapon I think (or maybe it was Ultima?) late into Disc 2, I've done one of those, but it's really hard ><

I'm already done with the entire story on disc 3, I'm just building up everything and getting mimes and double cuts and kotr for everyone, that is a bitch, exping with low level weapons and armor because they have double and triple materia growth sucks

I tried doing Emerald weapon without resorting to KotR or Mime, but it was so gay because I like playing on active mode so I'd take like 2 moves and then the eyes would rape all my MP and I'd get boned.

first time I killed emerald I didn't use mime and kotr, I don't really remember how I actually won, it took a long ass time, and all I remember is that my last move was Cid's Highwind

The first time I played through FF7 I think I always used Cloud, Tifa, and Cid. The last time I did it I used Cloud, Yuffie, and I rotated the third slot depending on who needed to get limit breaks learned. But Yuffie is like the whore that I hated the first play-through who ends up having one of the hottest final weapons.

I always used Cloud, Tifa, and Red, every single time I beat it, like 8 times... this time I'm using all of them to build them up, but I like Cloud, Tifa, Red, Vincent, and Cid the best. Cid and Cloud are probably the best 2 in the game because of their limits.

Yeah. Vincent's final weapon seems pretty nice too if you take the time to power it up. Overall though I guess it doesn't matter that much if you're maxing everyone's stats out at 255.

BTW, since you've maxed them out before, at 255 luck do you get 100% crit rates on attacks? I know since that was the easiest source to get I got yuffie up to like 100-150 luck and the crit rate got to around 50% of attacks.

The first time I played FF7, before I knew the correct order to get Yuffie to join me after beating her, it pissed me off so much that she was such a bitch when you tried to get her to join. And of course her stealing all my materia during the Wutai side quest didn't help much either.

Personally I always had Cloud, Cid, and Red XIII. Cloud and Cid's final Limit Breaks were multi-hit so they were kinda badass, Red XIII I just liked :D
