    Enfeebling Magic skill vs. Magic Accuracy

    As you may or may not know, a new RDM JSE set has been implemented in the game. Although many people claim it's horrid looking (I disagree), and it's stats are a little out there (Ranged Acc for a RDM? Wtf?), there is a stat boost to "Magic Accuracy". This leads me to believe that you're resisted less in ALL areas of magic... nukes AND enfeebles. Since the key ingredient for the set, Eltoro Leather, is 3M on my server and in very short supply, I was wondering if anyone has either the body (Chasuble), legs (Wise Braconi), or hat (Wise Cap) and can compare this new Magic Accuracy bonus to Enfeebling Magic skill. This way I don't go blowing all my gil on something I'll regret. ><;

    I think the Body would be a waste, no way +5 Magic Accuracy can compare to +15 Enfeebling Skill when it comes to enfeebling, since enfeebling skill would help potency and accuracy at the same time and would more then likely add up to more then +5 Macc for enfeebling. But for use when nuking or anything else RDM JSE body would be better. The hat and legs may be good, depending on how Macc works vs +7INT/MND or +fast cast/+4 Enfeebling magic. While I can't remember how much +Macc was on the head, the +2Macc on the legs would be quite nice if you can't land an enfeeble~

    Somehow, RDM JSE does not justify it's price tag, i'd buy the head and legs for like 200k max. And I doubt the Head would be worth it.

    i say we make Blazer buy the crap since he more than likely loaded anyway , and let us know how it compares to enfeebling skill. Good post by the way , been wondering same thing since that set came out.

    MACC is somewhat gimp I think. The reason being, that merit points only offer things in small additions.

    So the fact the RDM can boost MACC for a certain element by 3 and only Enfeebling Skill for 2 (I believe) it is definitely not more powerful than Enfeebling Skill.

    But then again, who knows. I'm pretty sure Macc +5 can't compare to Enfeebling +15 for this reasoning. And also pretty sure Macc + 1 and Enfeebling + 1 are pretty equal. The fact the SE keeps a lot of stuff hidden though makes it hard to be 100% certain. Who's to say how much MACC you get per level normally. Maybe MACC +1 is a huge jump.

    the fact that you get +3 from merit though leads me to believe it is gimp , and therefor the JSE is not worth it for the most part.

    Ok here's the low down, SCREW JSE (except legs, and head if you don't have af2 hat or crimson mask). Max the magic acc of your desire. Magic acc is similar to potency except it adds nothing to the damage when it comes to nukes. It enhances your spells enabling you to enfeeble NMs of high level crap much easier than normal. In other words, Instead of letting rdms get the option of having 400+ enfeebling skills, SE is making us choose which enfeebles are most important to cast. Enjoy choosing, its a doozy -.-'

    Why the hell can I silence Tiamat, and 4x Gods but never Kirin! He's suppose to be weak to it. It ain't right I tell you, it just ain't!!!

    Because Kirin has a "Resist Silence" trait. Think of Mysticmaker Bastardblix, it is a level 50 NM that I couldn't silence as a level 73 RDM with +enfeebling skill equipment out the wazoo. I guess Square thinks that it would make Kirin too easy if it could be silenced. (Because we all know that Deadly Hold and Great Sandstrom are kitten moves...)

    I silence Kirin usually 2-3 times each fight. It's always lasted 1-2 minutes each time. However, this works against our strategy now somewhat as when Kirin stops to cast is when everyone can go nuts on damage and unload SC's. Suzaku is my favorite, it's hilarious to watch him Chainspell and then just keep on running after the tank, the last 2 times I've silenced him on the pop and he's 80-90% dead before he ever casts (this is mini-suzy.)

    I think 1 M.Acc = 1 skill, no matter what you are casting. So:

    Wise Body > AF for nuking
    Wise Body < AF for enfeebling

    And so on and so forth. We are the equipment-swapping specialists, so this stuff makes perfect sense to me. It's garbage as a set but has some redeeming values in pieces if you have all 6 gobbiebags and macro room.

    ok , so the legs are really the only piece that is kinda worth getting , since the legs out there some what lack in enfeebling skill. but , is it worth losing the int and mind which are supposed to add potency? probably only worth having for those mobs that just like resisiting.

    An enfeeble that only lasts for 1 minute is better than one that doesn't stick I guess. I just wish I had more lines in my macros and slots in my gobbie bag. ;_;

    have one macro for MND equip and one for INT equip and one for enfeebling skill equip, and then each enfeeble switch to its own elemental staff. it's a pain in the ass and i'm sure you already know and do this but I wanted to say it anyway because i don't even have mnd or int equip :wink:

    or have one for enfeebling skill and then each enfeeble switch to mnd/int and staff, depending on how much different mnd/int gear you have, 2 rings leaves 2 more macro lines- shoes and gloves i guess. sounds good to me

    The only people I know of that have some of the RDM JSE is Hellboy and Nikkei in our LS. They may be able to comment on how macc works or if it's worth it.~~

  13. #13

    Hmm, doesn't INT and MND also add to accuracy? Not in a large way but maybe in a small sense... I dunno if it's worth it at all, considering if you do land Paralyze or slow it won't trigger or have a minimal effect. Besides for the price tag... i'd stay away.

    I can only speculate as I don't know from first-hand experience, that +MACC. would act similarly to E-seal. The little info box for e-seal says something like "increases magic acc." blah blah. Of course, SE doesn't typically openly say the specific results of something (ie. hidden effects). Would like to hear more about this though, so much more to buy if it appears more worthwhile

    New here btw (so, uh, hi? XD), read this forum for awhile, might as well as post. <3 videos (I really need a new hobby ;o)

    Oh yeah... as a bit of an update to this thread I made, I got some Wise Braconi made and it's safe to say I won't be using Errant Slops or any other leg armor for enfeebling any time soon~! Now, the real question is do I keep the Elite Beret+1 or get the Wise Cap. Hmmm.

  16. #16

    we have 2 rdms in LS with Chausble/hat/pants and they seem VERY happy with the results.

  17. #17

    It would seem like the Wise legs are the only one's worth getting, although, does +2 Macc make up for the lack of potency given with the Errant Slop? If it looks better i'll probably get it too. >.>

    I vote Elite Beret...

    Seriously, what looks more pimp? Wearing the beret (which I think looks cool) or stretching a blue condom over your head?

    I may just be jealous, but my gobbiebag is now beyond full and I've just stopped caring. 2 people in my LS wear the Wise Cap but they aren't around enough spamming silence on Kirin (as I do) so I don't know if there is much of a difference. I silence baby-suzaku almost every time (for the whole kill, not just chainspell), so I must be doing something right. I'm trying to talk them into letting me borrow the cap to test but seriously it just doesn't look right.

    btw Joft that's the best sig I've ever seen. I would take that for my own forum in a heartbeat if I didn't have such respect for pimps.
