Music today makes me angry. Puff Daddy samples Jimmy Page's guitar riff (this is purely an example) and every kid who pays him his 10 million in record sales never knows what in the hell the song "Cashmere" (sp) is. Nowhere will MTV make any comment such as, "hey kids, if you like this horrible regurgitation of a classic american rock song, try Led Zepplin's xx album!" It doesn't end there.

Performers (that word carefully chosen over artist) don't write their own music, don't compose their own "beats". This shit music all begins to blur together and sound the same. We can only hope that music will slowly kill itself off in the long run, but it's what sells.

Where's the emotion? The originality? The purity or drive behind the soul of it all?

MTV is slowly killing the true nature of music.

The judgement often cast on metal (speed, black, death, nu, whatever), hardcore, hard rock, and every other genre under the catagory of "aggressive music", that I'm just gonna refer to as "heavy music", is that it's just angry or *shudder* "Just screaming*. There is a soul behind heavy music that can only be described as the purest of emotion and music in it's truest form. I'm losing my wind, and having trouble articulating what it is that we relate to, but it's more than teen angst and anger. It's about relating to the music, to issues that go deeper than words often can and healing it all.
