i will disagree with the list of hardest jobs to lvl... probably drg.. but MNK and SAM? 60+ monks get PTs rather quicky and probably before most melee except rng.. drks dont have the big WSs yet. sams get tachi yukikaze(sp?) which is a pretty damaging WS.. sams always get PTs since they can chain to almost anything. also at 60 mnk get howling fist so they can make distortion, which seems like a favorite SC. and 71+, mnk PTs prolly bring in the most xp, sams own when they get gekko.. id say the hardest jobs to lvl 70+ are tanks.. most PTs are rng, mnk, or manaburn at high lvl. but yea.. drg is prolly the hardest job to lvl, SE should really do something for DRG instead of changing names of abilities and letting them throw pebbles

I've been in quite a few manaburn parties, as well as RNG parties. There are some setups though, especially with manaburn, that don't need a tank. 5BLM, 1 BRD for instance. Basically nuke everything.

Let me tell you a little story. I logged on one day, it was about 11 AM, I check Delivery Box for cash, went to refresh my Signet and put my Seek PT flag up as RDM (I was 68 at that time), typed out my comment, checked the the list of people available for PTs, weren't much on atm... only 4-5 RDMs my level range, most were in PT, some are afk/busy, went to grab a cup of coffee and breakfast... sat behind computer, and decided to chat with some friends...

Roughly 6 hours passed, my signet wore off, my chat log was filled with LS chat, tells, and requests for help with Genkai 1 . Not once did I get a tell for a PT that day, so don't tell me I don't know what it is to wait for a PT, I'm a RDM, just cause you level melee job doesn't make you any different from others. DV I like you and respect you, but to state something like that makes you closed minded and foolish.

DRG, while being useless end-game wise, is not a bad job for EXP PTs/Meripo. I was leveling my BRD last night, and our BLM had to go, so it was 5 of us left doing Chain 5 on Darters, the set up was... NIN/RNG/DRG/BRD/WHM. So meh.

    Peace.

P.S. Check my Sig, I'm PLD 65, I've set waiting for PT as PLD many times, especially when it's 3-4 other PLDs my level seeking. Shit, I remember getting passed over cause PT wanted a NIN. Don't even get me started on rivalry between NINs and PLDs. -.-

A-f*^king-men!!!!! Not only do we us pld have to worry about other PLD LFG, but NIN as well that are LFG. All it takes is that one comment.... "let's get a ninja tank" and there you go. Another PLD that sits with his flag up, due to the rivalry

That was a listing them in the time it takes to get a PT. If I was to list them in difficulty to play it'd be NIN>RDM>PLD>THF/BRD (depending on how cooperate your PT is).
Do you even know how hard it is for a MNK to level pre-60? Without a static or good luck making PTs it's a long time. But it's all due to people's ignorance and misconceptions about jobs. Every job you mention seems to get good after 60, you do realize there are levels before that, right?

BST have the hardest time, they work like hell, die if they make the tiniest mistake and have to put up with so much ignorance.

People think that DRG suck in EXP PTs which simply isn't true, they can do great damage, add in the flying rat and there you go. =P

People think that MNK hits weak in the earlier levels, which isn't true, it's just that we hit fast and for less per fist then a DRKs scythe, you try think how strong MNK would be hitting crabs for 80 a fist. -.- We also can't make distortion till 60, GOD forbid we do anything but that. All those things make it hard for a MNK to party.

THF is a sweet ride till 60, but after that most other jobs can do a THFs job for them.

PPls that play mage Jobs dont know what it is to wait for hours with out a invite. So your opinion to Invites i could care less. Go lvl one of these Jobs and see how they Are bashed from lvl 55+.

You are wrong, as Hirronimus already mentioned you have no idea how mage type jobs work. ANY job can wait a god forsaken amount of time for a PT, depending on nationality, availability and people in general. I've waited 7 hours for a PT, because i'm english (in the UK), seeking during JP time against 5 other JP RDMs. I've leveled MNK to 68, i'm proud of that, i've seen no bashing of any job, just ignorance. Form your own opinions about a job then say what you will.

Isn't that one of the 10 Commandments? "Thou shalt have no other skillchains before Distortion." Heaven forbid people try to do Fragmentation on Crabs since they are weak to Thunder. Actually, looking at that commandment, Heaven did forbid it. >_<

I'm not. I am talking about how Distortion is the only skillchain you ever need in life. Ever.

I hate to bring back the topic to DRGs, but how else are we going to get to 13 pages otherwise?

DRG is the bestest Damage Dealer and Healer and magic user in the whole wide world, you just have to wear the proper gear...
Start from this little gem of equipment for example, other jobs only wish they could wear it:
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ther/doceq.jpg

Seriously though, DRG is ok if you have fun with it, and you like things that float and like to dress in purple (also many equips they can wear like abjurations and barone look really cool).

And you can do many things with your friends I am sure they won't care much. But don't try to say DRG is something that it's not. If you wanted to do most magic damage for example, you wouldn't use drg/blm, you'd change to BLM main, and if you wanted to do most ranged/melee damage especially on hNMs and gods, you'd change to RNG.
Same for hate free awesome dmg you'd take SMN, for non-TP-inducing dmg you'd go MNK chiblast, for tanking NIN, PLD etc.

DRG doesn't have anything special yet for those kinds of things. Wheeling thrust ignores defense, whooptydoo, so does OneInchPunch but it sucks .

Btw I often play my monk with less useful combos for fun, like MNK/RDM with a staff for using the 400+ mp spirit taker gives me back into phalanx+stoneskin+blink and other spells. I even for fun play MNK/Bard and use counterstance so i counter and attack while singing lol. Or sub BST or summoner just to have pets.

If i'm needed for tanking I still go MNK/NIN, for xp i go MNK/WAR.
But for endgame stuff for me to be most useful I go MNK/NIN (for safety) or MNK/WHM for most chiblast (btw with all the MND gear I often stick pretty long paralyze silence and slow on genbu in between boosting  )
My point is that you can have fun at your job but for endgame if you're really needed you should go with what is best for the situation, and DRG doesn't have anything good to offer for those situations. If you want to feel like you contribute in endgame stuff, level another job, that's my suggestion.

How many pages will this thread get to? I did my part making this post as long and as controversial as possible... People could spend 2 pages just debating my statements (all true), like is genbu that easy to enfeeble? (probably). Or "Is bard a bad sub for monks?" (you bet :wink.

    thats just Focked up man...^^^^^^^^^^^^
well Drgs get different things with each sub they use. and if they sub ninja there little Dragon does healing wind every time Blink is casted so im told. not 100% sure though.
