    FFXI Log Parser in Linkshells

How many of you run a log parser in your linkshell?
Does your Linkshell know you do it?
Does anyone besides me think if anyone does this they need mental help and they could ruin there LS because of this?

    - i don't.
    - if i did my LS would know.
    - it's just you. people who uses parsers don't need mental help and parsers don't ruin their LS. people who think parsers can ruin an LS needs mental help imo.

The only parsers I know of are the kind that tell you how much people do in battle.

Is there another kind of parser that looks at what people say? If so, who would care how many times I say "Galka" and "utter hotness" in the same sentence?

I love log parsers. It's always fun to see Courrier Carrie do more dmg than PLD.

IMO thats too much control on one LS which can lead to break ups

using a parser has nothing to do with control.

if there's any form of control related to the parser is that people base many of their decisions around them.

but what people do with the information from a parser has nothing to do with simpy using one.

I'm sorry, but only one word comes to mind when I try to summerize and understand your posts, Ronin... paranoia.

I am on sylph server and we have 2-3 people running parsers i our LS for their static XP pts. Its fun to look at the results of how much xp we gained that night, dmg done, SC completed.

we don't parse but we do tell people to GTFO of the alliance
    and they don't usually care

Hey I know my old LS leader ran one for some reason... There for awhile it was like everything I said came back to bite me in the ass and some of the people loved to dredge up past stuff. Or use things I had said to start fights. So yes I am a bit paranoid when id get tells about everything that came out of my mouth and how "It is not how a member of this LS" should be acting. And alot of it was stupid stuff that lead up to a boiling point. And I eventually boiled over. And IMO with out that damn parser is what helped start alot of the fights. And i fell that the leader used it to his advantage to control what was happening within his LS.

    oh

you're definitely talking about a different type of parser. most of us that use a parser only record dmg done during a fight.

i think ur talking about recording conversations etc.... yes i guess that could be seen as going overboard as far as control

I have a parser that logs all battle dmg etc. and all chat text. I find it useful for remembering names of ppl an such.

Last night 16 times, but I was a little busy with RL stuff and didn't chat much.
